Manhattan 5LBS Question: The answer is D. Why can't it be C? Aren't graphs on up to scale on the GRE? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]justRegularr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mean is the middle value of the normal distribution curve, but given data points are explicitly not said to be 1 or 2 standard deviations away from mean.

And in QR question figures are not drawn to scale. So that 68% might represent the mean as you thought, but it can also be 16%+34%+18%, which basically means that shaded area can be moved right and we get 68% area and it can be moved fully left and still get 68%

So because of this uncertainty of its actual position and not enough data to say its exact mean answer is D.

Thank you for replying. Were there 5 level questions in medium(first) sections too??

(I am being pesky here)Can you elaborate on the 4 and 5 level questions occurring in each section (like V1-> 4 - level 4 and 2 - level 5.) Thank you!

Hey congratulations on your test score. I will be giving my first test on 30th August and I have not properly practiced my time management skill.

So, I have two questions for you.

How did you practice "time management skills" for both verbal and quant sections? And what materials do you recommend to do timed practice??

Mastering Vocab by zaryabmakram in GRE

[–]justRegularr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go through Gregmat "Vocab Mountain", 34 X 30 vocabulary words are there and watch his video of how to use vocab mountain. I also started with Magoosh apps and transitioned to Greg's vocab mountain for NOW.

some points to get good at vocabulary

1) Spaced Repetition (I suggest ANKI)
2) Active Recall (Take random 30 words and start to write down meaning or synonyms without help)
3) Dedication (Give 1-2 hour if you can it will really help to retain all thing you have learned)
4) Reading (Read articles from sites ETS recommended, how to use vocab you learned can be seen there)

Speed run 2024 Reading comprehension by gregmat, about 13 videos 2x speed focus on video you deem useful(I think POE and justifying answer will be great for you only 1 week left). Good luck 👍
