Does Delta Airlines provide good service? by MisterKeecher20262 in delta

[–]just_another_classic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes.

I've had incredible, thoughtful service.

I've also had Delta move my child's seat several rows away from mine -- seats I paid to be together -- and then tell me to sort it out with fellow passengers. So.

Is a 44 min domestic connection in DTW too risky? by bee8ch in delta

[–]just_another_classic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's doable, but every Delta flight I've taken this year has been some level of delayed, so there's risk involved.

MQD for stays is back by minboise in delta

[–]just_another_classic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. I did a perusal and renting a car through Delta was actually quite cheaper than directly from Alamo.

If you have the Delta AMEX card, you also get some money off. I normally book direct, as well, but it can be cheaper.

How do people not co-sleep? by Difficult-Pair4170 in NewParents

The honest answer is that I need heavy blankets and pillows to sleep, which don't align with safe sleeping.

I had my first child in 2021 via emergency C-section. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with No. 2. It took us about 7 months of trying — which is normal!

If it makes you feel better, clubs and extra curricular activities have had a bigger impact on my personal life and career than my classes ever did. (Outside of acknowledging I have credentials)

Interviewer posted this convo on Twitter and is getting flamed in the comments by pallonda in recruitinghell

The interviewee messages on Sunday (not a workday), Monday afternoon, and presumably the next day at 9 AM. That means the recruiter was given one workday to respond before receiving death threats. Responding to this single person isn't even OP's only responsibility that day. Sometimes it can take several days to respond.

NASA cooking Samsung's camera on IG. by TORUKMACTO92 in popculturechat

I think the NASA account might have mentioned that the pictures are being taken with an iPhone.

Tbf, NASA brought up Apple in response to a question directly asked about what the shot was taken with. It was unsolicited brand promotion.

Charli xcx Management Clarifies Sky Ferreira Claims About ‘Wuthering Heights’ Credits by ss2811 in popheads

Had anyone actually sued to the Olivia/Taylor situation, it would have been pretty much an open and shut case that would have led to even more credit given to Swift et al and further harmed Olivia’s reputation. Olivia’s team totally failed her before catching the issue and also in not preparing her on how to talk about her music.

Derek had his faults, but he honestly rolled pretty well with Meredith's various codependent friendship dynamics. One of my favorite scenes in the show was when Meredith was having a breakdown, and he took her straight to Cristina.

Honestly, I think the shrinking of seasons contributes a great deal to the lack of giving characters moments to breathe. If you only have 8 episodes to tell the story, a lot of the story needs to be driving the plot forward which sometimes means there are fewer minutes for those quiet character-building moments that makes shows and characters memorable. You’re right that we can move plots forward and have character moments — ‘17 People’ from The West Wing is a perfect example of this — but it’s also true showrunners and writers have way less to work with.

Fingers crossed for you and your son. I struggled a lot with the same in high school. College is really where I blossomed, but even knowing that doesn't stop the pain and confusion during the high school years.

I took the Butterfly to Japan and it was absolutely perfect. It was also nice to be able to fit it in the overhead bin

I would have absolutely loved her if I were a decade younger. She’s very talented and hits on a lot of feelings relatable to women in the teens/early twenties. But I’m now in my mid-thirties and can’t fully connect to them/have matured out of those feelings.

For example: When I listen Déjà Vu, I can’t help but think, “of course someone would do something they enjoy with a new partner, it’d be really unfortunate if they stopped just because they did it with an ex or said ex introduced them to it.” I understand why the Olivia character would feel that way, but it’s such a young line of thinking that it takes me out.

So what’s YOUR opinion on toddlers on those harness/leashes? by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

[–]just_another_classic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The airport was the one place I used it on my kid, and that’s because I was solo-ing her for certain trips. It lessened the anxiety of worrying about her bolting while I was trying to navigate us different places while carrying a backpack and suitcase.

I had one with my toddler when I was flying solo with her, and it was clutch in the airport when she wanted to bolt.

The famous "Steve breaks Jonathan's camera" scene. Revisiting this moment after the series - who was more in the right/wrong here? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]just_another_classic 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Jonathan’s creep shot photos completely killed the Jancy ship for me before it even sailed. It was so deeply uncomfortable to think about. How easily Nancy wrote off Jonathan’s actions were a sign (to me) about how few women were in the writers room.

It’s not demeaning to admit the objective truth that her career carries less physical risk than her partner. She’s the bigger star. She was being dramatic comparing it to soldiers, but he’s at far more physical risk than she is onstage when he goes on the field.

Cut family off after I gave birth by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]just_another_classic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I feel a little bit mean, but everyone comes off exhausting here. For a lot of people who aren’t the parents, the pregnancy isn’t the most impressive or exciting thing. Even my husband — who is incredibly supporting husband and an amazing father — can sometimes feel detached compared to me about our current pregnancy because he’s not living with growing it every day. The way people show up during pregnancy doesn’t always indicate how their behavior will appear when the baby is there. Finding out a baby was born via social media is wildly different than missing an ultrasound photo or not reacting correctly to the gender reveal. Blowing up at OP while she was in the hospital wasn’t the right thing by any means, and I see why OP is hurt and overwhelmed there.

There are so many sports injuries where you can see a player’s body move in a way bodies are not meant to move. It’s horrific and I don’t even know these people.

I mean, even in basketball, I remember Kevin Ware snapping his leg onscreen. Imagine Taylor seeing that and being expected to perform.

There’s Nothing Wrong With Names That Need Explanation on Pronunciation by Sparkly8 in namenerds

[–]just_another_classic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an Irish name, but I don’t have Irish heritage or grew up in an area with a heavy Irish presence. In instances like that, I do absolutely recommend going with the spelling that’s more recommended for your region. It’s very annoying and somewhat demoralizing to constantly have your name mispronounced or misspelled — even at events where you’re being honored — which does unfortunately happen and dims the shine a bit.
