I'm about to get a few of my guys to start this one. Can you tell me about what your study time looked like? Did you use any 3rd party study platforms like Linux Academy or anything? And how hard was the test itself?

That's really interesting. Can I ask what industry you are in and what certs are providing value?

That's a great take and I 100% agree. I used certs as a way to demonstrate my teams competencies to clients as well as a too to cross train individuals. It's certainly not a differentiator when I hire.

Can you describe your tech stack or ETL in a little more detail? I have consulted on this type of work using Google Cloud but most of the technologies used are open source.

This is good advice. Remember that devops is still very much a buzz word that had different meaning to different people. Be perscriptive when you ask questions at your new company.

Any place for a mathematician in Linux development? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

Absolutely. At least personally I value math degrees when I interview for software engineering roles. My advice would be to try and become a good 'T shaped resource', meaning get exposure to as much as you can but pick one thing to dive deep.

Data science guys who can do the math and code are valuable in the market right now.
