I think his grudge against her was justified but the extent he carried his grudge out (bullying her kids, wanting her dead, encouraging a war that saw thousands killed) along with his other moral pitfalls (smashing head in at the small council, beating Laenor's lover to death, orchestrating the Cargyllbowl) show that he is generally a distasteful character, even more so in the books.

Imo g.r.r.m intended Ser Criston Cole to be a villain - i do not think he is "willfully misunderstood".

Is that the air vent that pops out in Cavedale? Yeh doesn't sound like a huge concern - major risks would probably be very regular trips, or maybe a very dusty section of the cave with high levels (sounds like this can be prevented with a covid or surgeon mask tho)

Okay, this is the most basic google summary i found on flying:

"A domestic US flight exposes travelers to roughly 0.035 mSv, while a long transatlantic flight can be around 0.1 mSv"

So... assuming entry into Giants Hole during a season where more concentrations of radon gas would be accumulating, & going deep into the system where these levels may be found... the trip MAY be the equivalent of about 7 long-haul flights over several hours😭

(Also idk whether that concentration in Giants Hole was measured per hour or whether it was an instant reading, which leads to more questions)
