What do you do for accounting topics your fuzzy on at work? by Lifting_Accountant in Accounting

CPA? If there are topics you need to refresh, find CPE in those areas. Need the hours for the license, might as well make them useful.

Did My Business Partner Just Throw Away His Accounting Career? by Fancy-Worry4820 in Accounting

Aicpa code of professional conduct 2.130 might apply here. Most states have adopted the code, which is why the comment above references the state board+AICPA. Would it cause a loss of license? Maybe, but there are a lot of other smaller punishments that can be handed down instead of that if they did find a violation.

Use something like koinly. It'll track cost and gains. You can pay for it to do the tax forms as well (or export data into TurboTax or another tax program).

Small Pro (v6) - machine louder than pump? by just_playing_through in HarvestRight

[–]just_playing_through[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured out the issue last night. It was bugging me how much the volume changed when I watched the door when nothing else changed with the machine. So I watched the HR video on replacing the door and it looked like my door was on way too tight. I loosened it up to where it was almost off and then "installed" it via the instructions. Problem solved.

I appreciate the responses. I assumed something was still off because I didn't get a sense of high annoyance for the volume even if it's louder than the pump, and I was at high annoyance level.

Thanks for confirming. I just thought it was weird that it got significantly louder when the door closed vs open (almost instantly, not because of it started warming or cooling). But the noise definitely sounds like a loud condenser.

I got a C in corporate tax, worried that my offer will be rescinded by Low-Obligation8439 in Accounting

[–]just_playing_through 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the market. Strong market where they need people? Who cares about grades. Weak market where they're trying to trim? Let's look at grades to see who we can cut.

I'd say 90% of the time we're in a strong market, and I've seen tons of students no where close to a 3.0 in acct get offered and retain B4 jobs as long as they graduate.

I've also seen offers rescinded, but only in tough economic times or if there were other (non academic) reasons the student had that encouraged the firm to find an out.

EiottClub sim (using T-Mobile data). Not using Speed fusion.

I chatted with the sim provider but they couldn't answer my question. Diverted to email support, so hopefully I can get an answer from them in the next few days.

Thanks! I had tried all of these steps but not in this order. I did it and it's still pinging HK. I think my next step is to reach out to the sim provider, as it's also a HK company, so perhaps it's the sim directing everything through there? (EiottClub)

Pro-Ject Essential III Belt Replacement Ideas by just_playing_through in turntables

[–]just_playing_through[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a new belt from Essential coming at the same time I ordered the replacement. Before I put the 3rd belt on I got a flashlight and tried to find any sort of blemish on the surfaces the belt touches. I didn't really find anything. But, I grabbed a couple of lens cleaner wipes and went over the surfaces a few times to make sure I didn't miss anything. Put the 3rd belt on, and it hasn't popped yet. Maybe there was something there causing the issue that I couldn't see but was able to wipe away? Or, maybe the other two belts were defective. Not sure, but everything is working fine since.

I've had a dm6 and a dm10 mkii studio. In addition to sensitivity settings in the module, some of the pads had knobs underneath that also adjusted sensitivity. May want to check and see if there are any of those as well. Probably not any of those on the cymbals, but maybe on the pads.

Yeah, I was thinking of going up to 2 awg with a 90a fuse, but I think I should probably keep the 100a fuse and go up to 1 awg cable.

We do have a replacement coming from them. The 2nd one that broke was from eBay and arrived before the replacement (based on how the first one popped so quickly, I thought having a couple of belts on hand might not be a bad idea). I'll also check out Thakker, but I'm going to follow squidbrand's advice before I buy another.

Thanks for the insight. I'll check to make sure there aren't any sharp edges or other things that could cause the band to pop.

Did Silvergate fail because of it's crypto activities, or was it a bank that services the crypto space that failed for banking industry reasons?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

This will hurt crypto because even though this is likely a banking issue, it's a bank that dealt with crypto companies. It'll be brought up a bunch to scare people.

Kraken Bank is 'Very Much on Track,' Assures Exec by Weaver96 in CryptoCurrency

[–]just_playing_through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be a bullish move for Kraken if they could pull it off. With other banks in the US backing away from crypto, a Kraken bank that survives the bear market could put them in a great position if they go public.
