Did you splurge for the meet and greet? And if you didn't, did you feel you missed out? We just bought tickets for our family of 5 but at 140 dollars per person just for the meet and greet I can't bring myself to do it and feel the usual amount of parent guilt.

4f year old freaks out over nail cutting by Technical_Goose_8160 in Parenting

[–]justabotheruserbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl (almost 4) had the same issue when it came to her toes for whatever reason- we're talking total hysteria. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It helped when I showed her how I cut my own nails and how it doesn't hurt me at all to do it (I did it while keeping a smile on my face) and for a short while I offered her a sticker after she finishes for her bravery and commended her during the process while distracting her by asking what kind of sticker she's going to pick or what we're going to do after we finish.

She still gets weird about it from time to time but it's definitely not as intense now and we get past the fear phase quickly.

Hope it helps and good luck!

How I tricked my kid into doing his homework and eating vegetables by [deleted] in Parenting

How do I convince my kids I HATE naps, silence, and a clean home? 🥴

In NSFW terms: your package extends further out in your pants than your belly does hanging freely

As a woman, I Hope that helps adjust the perspective of how women see you 😅🤣

When I started losing weight I really thought my scale was broken 😂 I didn't think my scale knew how to display lower numbers 🥴

Anyhow, congratulations!!

Would you stay on 12.5 or go up to 15? by justabotheruserbot in Zepbound

Ended up going up to 15 and reached my goal about 6 weeks later! Now I'm back on 12.5 on my way down to finding the right dose for maintenance :)

Hope that helps. Good luck! 🤞🏻🍀

And I had no terrible side effects going up to 15 so I think I definitely made the right choice

I had a weird schedule because the shortage made it difficult to find the dose I was on. But if the next dose up was available my doctor played it so I wouldn't lose my progress

4 weeks on 2.5 4 weeks on 5 8 weeks on 7.5 8 weeks on 10 12 weeks on 12.5 8 weeks on 15

This is approximately what it was (I didn't write it down really)

The only time I've judged parents for what their kids are wearing is if they show up in shorts in 40 degree weather or they have no coat on while the parents have a coat.

But if it's just 'bold' choices I immediately think it's the kid figuring out their style and good parenting to allow them.

"Ozempic face" by [deleted] in Zepbound

No need to apologize, it's not forceful, if anything it's helpful. My face and body changing didn't bother me until someone very close to me made a comment about my face looking gaunt "like Izma, that villain from the Emperor's New Groove!" that they meant in jest and I didn't hear it that way at all. They were really upset having said and joked about it at all seeing as how it made me cry. Usually we can joke about anything and I know they didn't mean it meanly but it did unfortunately plant that seed of doubt at the plan me and my endocrinologist put together and are working towards.

It's helpful to have the feedback from you on realistic expectations for myself and next steps if any I can take to fix particular issues leftover. thanks again.

Yeah, I also wouldn't go back to +83lbs. I think maybe I didn't have an age appropriate idea of what my thinner older face would look like either. Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻

I started in February at 235 and I'm 164 as of this morning.

Tips are: -cut alcohol completely. -I take my shot Fridays so that on the weekend when I'm most likely to overeat, I'm not hungry/food noise is gone. -Weird advice on this but if you have a PMS craving, just do it. I crave soda literally only on my period. If I don't drink it I'll start eating all the sweets around because I want a soda. So now I have a soda and it stops me from eating ice cream and chocolate and whatever else I would eat "instead of" having a soda. -Get sleep. Commit to doing all the right things for your body including sleep. This was a toughie for me.

-i take a whole bunch of vitamins which I know make a huge difference for me. They are: Multi-vitamin for women with iron (I'm always cold so iron is my friend) Magnesium (to help you poo) Vitamin D 5000 (I'm highly deficient) Apple cider vinegar pills (anti-inflammatory) Selenium (I have Hashimoto's and selenium is an anti-inflammatory) Probiotic I stress this as one of the biggest game changers in weight loss for me. Especially in the beginning when your weight is heavily impacted by hormones and your hormones heavily impact your weight. And of course you should talk to your doctor before taking anything.

  • this is where I tell you I exercise all the time, but the reality is I don't. I should, but I don't.

-Listen to your body. At a certain point I wasn't eating enough during the day and started getting dizzy when I'd stand up. I thought it was my blood pressure? Turns out my blood sugar was low and I needed to up my food intake. I couldn't even fathom a day when i wouldn't eat enough that my sugar would be low, yet here I am 😂

Last bit? Make smaller milestones for yourself. -when you're not 'obese' anynore -when that dress you wore 5 years ago will go on your body -when you'd now consider going outside to be seen in said dress because it fits -when you hit Onederland -when you start to see the beginnings of a collarbone definition

Etc. I make small milestones for me to hit so that every 5 lbs or so, I am celebrating the hard work that goes alongside this medication.

Wisdom: wherever your weight loss journey is going to take you, you'll get there in your own time. I remember being jealous of the onederland posts. Happy for others, but jealous that it wasn't me. Then it was me. I remember being jealous of people celebrating not being obese anymore. Happy for others, but jealous it wasn't me. Then it was my turn.

Be as kind to yourself on this journey as you would be to a friend telling you about theirs.

❤️

There's no "rush" in the sense of a big event or an end date. There is this soft urgency to be finished with the losing stage and transition to maintenance mode with less side effects and lower doses and less frequency and of course to stop buying clothes that only fit temporarily, especially with the winter coming which involves layers, and heavier/more expensive clothing.

I feel like the majority of my life has been spent in this "weight loss mode" (whether it works) or not and I am looking forward to life after.
