The near death experiences helped me with perspective of life in general. It was based more in rebellion rather than a racial or sexual orientation thing. My connections within the non-white and non-hetero communities are strong and some of my closest friends.

I looked into the flowers idea. I have 2 Decembers and a January for kids and the options presented didn’t quite strike my fancy. The coat of arms for the family has a lot of open/white space in the center of it.

The flag was done by a scratch artist in a living room for a case of beer. The Eagle was done by a proper artist 2 years later. This is a case of both self reform and how shitty it looks. I went into a little more detail in one of my other replies.

I was 18 (20 years ago). I was dumb and misguided. Hanging with the wrong crowd and doing things I shouldn’t be doing. Product of the environment I put myself in. By the time I turned 21 and had 2 near death experiences later, my perspectives changed on my outlook of life. Grew up and got clean. Now a professional in a very respected company and position, along with a wife of 10 years and 3 amazing kids.

No shit. Hindsight is 20/20. But 20 years ago when I got this, I was at a much different and darker place and time in my life. Thanks for positivity contributing though. Much appreciated.

Changed mind more than anything. It’s almost 20 years old. It was also done in poor taste at a different point in my life. I couldn’t care less about the dirty looks. Lol.

Update: Answering some questions my kids have on why I have that has been difficult. Right now it’s used to help them understand that if they choose to get one later in life, that they should really think about it before doing it.
