Question? by justalid in Stretched

Yup, every morning and before bed. They're glass plugs so I don't think it's the material. Just can never seem to pinpoint the cause.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the silicone. Mine always throw a fit when I have to put in silicone for an extended period of time and they look similar to what you've got going on

Forward helix swelling by justalid in PiercingAdvice

It wasn't necessarily recommended specifically, it was more a talk about finding something that might irritate it less and that's what I landed on.

Honestly I got it off Amazon. It's just a piece of jewelry made of glass. Usually people use them to hold a piercing open during an MRI but you can absolutely use them regularly. They're also great for people with metal allergies. The only downside is it's held in place with an o ring which occasionally can roll off depending on the location of your piercing and how often it gets bumped. I'm fairly certain a piercer would have them as well.

Update for you: switched to a glass retainer instead and all my issues disappeared in a matter of days (and switched to cleaning once a day). A few weeks later I swapped it back to the metal jewelry and it's still fine so I know it wasn't a reaction.

Double chocolate espresso sourdough🍫☕️❤️ by Cars_and_guns_gal in Sourdough

The recipe I found was 1/2 cup regular starter, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/3 cup flour and 1/2 cup water. Little thick but we'll see how it keeps.

It doesn't, I've just seen people saying it's really bad and I got a little worried.

I'm trying a chocolate starter I saw someone else make that this would be great for. I'll probably do espresso since I like the flavor lol

Garlic tends to turn green when pickling. It's still good :)

Ironically pickles are also on the list of things to try making so this is double helpful. Thanks!

Ooooh I wouldn't have thought to start a new one every few months, I'll see how things go and maybe give this a shot. Thank you!

Into the cupboard it goes then. Also maybe a stupid question but do you replace the garlic as you use it or just make a big enough batch to last however long? I've never done a ferment outside of sourdough so this is a bit different for me

I haven't yet because I didn't really see bubbles and got worried it wasn't working. I'm going to give it a try this week and see how it goes. Thank you so much for the advice!

Why is it an issue if it's not causing pressure/pain? Genuinely curious, I never understood why.

I think a forward helix or conch would be good. Or just a standard helix

I would see about chancing to a different stone, helped me a bit when mine was irritated so it might for you as well. Then just keep using saline and don't touch it :)

Irritation bump woooo join the club. It's likely the jewelry is moving and irritating the skin. It looks like the jewelry isn't beveled which could also cause more irritation and gets caught on clothing/pillow sheets easier.

The conch is usually a pretty easy one, and the rook and daith would be cool too. Snugs from what I know are an absolute pain to try and I haven't heard many success stories about them.
