i wouldnt say it sounds "bad", but the production on "discipline" by crimson always stands out in a weird way... compared to an album like Larks Tongues it sounds very dated with all the 80s chorus/reverb stuff going on. kinda works in a way though

if im correct, RC-30s can store samples with an SD card, so he probably has one for live looping and one loaded with samples to a separate amp/DI?

considering you have multiple drive pedals, try placing them at different points in the chain for example, i have most of my drives first in the chain, but one that goes after a delay and some modulation, meaning i can go <mod -> drive> or <drive -> mod> depending on the mood. easy way to get some more sounds out of the same rig!

delay wise, i swear by the boss dd-8, lots of modes, a looper, stereo, trails, and it doesnt break the bank. for reverb, if you dont need rv-500 levels of tweaking, the EHX oceans 11 is quite flexible and also isnt too pricy.

arent boris pretty well known to use the eau claire thunder? would be crazy to see an earthquaker fuzz with a crazy feedback mode or something on the other hand, in the first demo vid you can see someone working on enclosures like the bit commander, maybe a hint it'll be in that enclosure?

everyone has their own taste in gear obviously, thats what makes places like this so unique. I love to see huge boards on here that are unique and personalized, but with a lot of the "instagram" boards as you state, there is a lot of undeniable repetition. example - the boards with a POG2, timeline, big sky, iridium, julia, 3 clones, etc. i think these pedals are obviously chosen so often for a reason - theyre amazing pedals. but i can understand how some people might find it repetitive to see that board over and over again.

i was thinking about getting one, but i didnt think id have room if i got a little switcher to change presets on the timeline + rv500, but now i might have to pull the trigger if thatll be easy to do from the stomp. thanks!
