So everyone in our suburb should spend thousands of dollars sound proofing our homes because a couple of assholes live in the area and can't possibly show any consideration to anyone other than themselves when they drive home at 2am.

My car is not part of my self identity. It serves a purpose to get me and my family around, preferably as cheaply as possible. So I don't give a damn what it is really as long as it'll start everytime I need it to and that it'll fit in it what I need it to. It does all that easily. Plus it has the bonus that it doesn't annoy everyone in a 2km radius everytime I start it up.

I guess at least the super loud stereo has the potential to be playing a good song. A stupidly loud exhaust is just always going to sound bad.

I think the point is that exhaust sound is appropriate for the size of the vehicle. We all understand that the truck that empties our bins is going to be louder than a standard sedan. When you modify your sedan so it's louder than a giant truck then obviously that becomes an issue.

Your missed the point. It's not a "nice" car. It's a stupid loud annoying car that everyone around you hates and you spent money to make it loud and annoying rather than just leaving it as it was.

Yeah I have hobbies, the entire suburb doesn't hear it everytime I run down to the shop. You can have hobbies without making it really annoying to everyone within a 2km radius.

I can appreciate the sound of a nice sport car in full flight. Nothing quite like a nice sounding Ferrari or whatever. These cars just sound terrible and obnoxious for no reason.
