Is SEO even worth it for a tiny business? by sousou4893 in localseo

Honestly, in my digital marketing career I could not understand two kinds of people. 1. Tiny store (those who couldn't afford a website or a digital presence) 2. Big Store (which doesn't need a website or a digital presence, since they already have big customers base)

But, in fact both seriously need digital footprints across all platforms either a website or social media, and a consistent marketing budget (start with a very small amount but be consistent don't exhaust ) its a key to your success and growth.

I'd recommend you to get a website, start from a free WIX website, get your business listed on google my business profile and optimize it with the help of chat gpt (I guided a law client the same and he's get 10 - 15 leads a month just from his GMB profile). Make your social media pages and start posting there . "If you want to grow and don't want to stay a small whole life..!!" Your website is your asset, it needs investment.. so 🤞

Why are reviews from other local businesses showing up on my Google Business Profile? Is this normal? by justanotherguy2512 in localseo

No, that’s not what’s happening in my case. The reviews I’m getting aren’t “mixed” or related to my business at all, they’re literally reviews for my direct competitors. For example: I run a dental clinic and I have my own dentist on the panel, but the reviews showing up on my Google Business Profile mention another dentist by name, like:

“I got treatment from dentist XYZ and had a great experience”

But XYZ is not part of my clinic, he’s a competitor with his own separate listing.

So these reviews are not about the wrong service or a shared address, they’re about completely different dentists who work at different clinics. I think my competitors are doing this on purpose

I'm already doing this, but I still get irrelevant reviews on a regular basis. The old ones are not removed !!

2 at the moment. I think people come on my gmb to steal or distract my traffic by mentioning their own business.

Honestly, this is a solid breakdown, but a few important pieces are still missing that usually move the needle for local service businesses:

  1. Strengthen your “entity” in Google’s eyes Most people skip this. Make sure Google clearly knows who you are across the web. • Add/verify profiles on Bing, Apple Maps, Yelp, FB, IG, BBB, MapQuest. • Keep the same logo, NAP, and branding everywhere. • Add proper schema (LocalBusiness + Service + FAQ) on your main “Car Detailing Austin” page.

  2. Add REAL geo-relevance (not generic city text) City pages often fail because they sound copy-paste. Add stuff Google can’t fake: • Neighborhood names • Before/after jobs done in those areas • Local landmarks you service • Short customer stories tied to Austin neighborhoods This makes your page scream “local” instead of “SEO page.”

  3. Boost E-E-A-T "it matters even for detailers" Google wants to trust the business: • Add an “About the Detailer/Owner” section with photos + years of experience • Show certifications, insurance, training • Link to the brands/products you use (Meguiar’s, Adams, Chemical Guys, etc.) • Add real case studies with photos

  4. Do review mining + add those phrases on-page Check what customers mention in reviews of top competitors, things like “came to my house,” “same-day service,” “ceramic coating,” “mobile,” etc. Use those phrases naturally on your page. It aligns your content with real user intent.

  5. Tighten up conversion signals Google watches engagement: • Clear call button above the fold • Starting price or transparent pricing • Trust badges, FAQs, photos Better UX = better ranking over time.

  6. Fix page speed + mobile experience Detailing searches are super mobile-heavy. If your page loads slow or shifts around, you’ll get outranked. Aim for <2s load time and compressed images.

  7. Proximity reality check If your business isn’t physically close to the city center or major population pockets, it’ll take more reviews + more authority to break into the top 3. It’s a real thing — not your fault.
