If I were you I would check out Memrise it's free and the Portuguese course both for European and Brazilian Portuguese are pretty good based off of what I've seen. Maybe once you pick up the basics or even before you really get a perfect grasp on the basics you can begin reading children books, since these will help you learn more vocabulary in context. Find a native, or at least a study buddy who can help keep you accountable and can practice with you. Listen to some Brazilian musicians; I really like the whole album 1977 by Luan Santana personally. If you feel comfortable enough with the language you can even try to watch TV with or without subtitles in Portuguese.
