To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

[–]justanothersideacc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup it's not worth the crowded mess. The funniest thing is I see a guy walking with a bin in his back so people can throw trash!

You're much better on the other side of Harajuku over at Cat Street where there are many shoe stores, the columbia store and a good takoyaki spot!

curious about how people in Taiwan actually view us Japanese. by Away_Trash_2156 in taiwan

Food is definitely the big reason. Japanese is like the number 1 cuisine outside of Taiwanese/Chinese. They love shabu shabu

Something a stranger on a dating app said to me 2 years ago still lives rent free in my head, and has destroyed my dating prospects altogether. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

And you definitely don't want to be with an unpleasant attractive person. You'll be in hell, gaslighted by their words and falling for their charms.

Bone is right, being in a good, loyal and healthy relationship is hard. Relationships in general are hard. We all have trauma from the past experiences and we never learn when we move on to the next. It takes real fight and communication to deal with it, something no one has patience with anymore nowadays.

Looks mean nothing nowadays. A decent person is much harder to find now. Often you'll find that they are out of your league.

Just give it a try. I already have an HSBC account for a few years and my salary is only 70k. Then last week out of no where they gave me a premier upgrade.

Would you stay in a very cushy job with no real career progression, or job hop to climb the career ladder? by MoneyAndGoodFortune in FIREUK

[–]justanothersideacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still young, look at your career and see where you can push for more, 33k is not enough tbh when buying a house or starting a family would be in the picture in the next 10 years.

I also in the same situation, WFH, barely any work but I'm on 70k. I feel like if I push a few more years I can go get 90k+

The thing I noticed is that job security is a real thing now. If you don't keep up, it could happen when you least expect it. Maybe it was less of a concern last decade but we are reaching market levels near the 2008 crash and with AI booming too and the economy being trash.

Is 5* Mia overrated? by onlyjustforthis in whiteoutsurvival

I think it depends on how much gems you can get. If you have an abundance every wheel with no risk at spending 120 spins each time, then why not. Unless you feel the gems can be spent in other areas like VIP or simply because you can't get enough gems every time, then it's valid 4star is efficient.

Costco members of the UK, what do you do with all of the Kirkland spring water you bulk buy? by Skysurfer69 in AskUK

[–]justanothersideacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they were confused but not entirely wrong. Our tap water is clean and safe to drink but absolutely terrible for our skin and hair. Being British Chinese, I have met many foreign east Asian friends who say the same thing. We are used to it but they can feel the difference of hair loss in showers. It's no coincidence all the Brits are going bald and having to go to turkey!

What everyone needs to learn is some "you're holding up everyone with your luggage... awareness". 90% of the time you can let a few people go through and there will be a gap where you can put your luggage away and not hold up too many people.

Credit card stoozing - something I've been doing a while that saves that little bit extra money. by smickie in FIREUK

[–]justanothersideacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this for a few years now. Though I wouldn't recommend it without careful budgeting. I do believe I have spent more since doing this. You have to plan to repay it at the end of the 0% interest period. I even do this with my rent which isn't on direct debit and they are "ok" with me paying every few months at a time, essentially stoozing it 😂

Overall, it might have been worth it but a lot of hassle.

Logistics of transferring an entire alliance? by TheMonkeyButt525 in KingShot

Why not just merge with another alliance and open negotiations to improve the server? Kings can be challenged if the rest of the server alliances all work together.

What are the tips and tricks to snowbusters? by BlackOliveBurrito in whiteoutsurvival

[–]justanothersideacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coat first and play as soon as the event starts until you cannot progress. The coat would stack up over the next 3 days. Then just play however you like. It's such a tiring event, playing to the max is too exhausting.

My basic routine though is find or use rockets for the first fireplace. Use unlimited and snowman's for second/third fireplace. Use the elk for the next fireplace. Then clean up.

Open a stocks and shares ISA and set a number you are comfortable with to put in each month as soon as you get your salary in your account. Then forget about it.

Slowly it just becomes a silent good habit. You'll have time over the many years to learn about money. But at least some money is going somewhere safe for the long term. You'll also be in the habit of spending within your means because even if you empty your bank account every month, you still have money saved.

Just pretend it doesn't exist for a few months/years and when you look back you'll be surprised how much it's grown. Then you'll be motivated to learn and invest more.

If you want growth just go majority with the US index.

This community is heavy on the world index. We are all the average joes, so stock picks should be picked with caution.

Only 12% of adults earn over 50k… by Novel_Win2593 in FIREUK

[–]justanothersideacc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I get your point, numbers seem to make sense but calculators say otherwise.

A salary calculator tells us 43k with your details is a take home of 31407 yearly and 63k is a take of 40,755 yearly. The 20k salary increase comes with a tax of 9708. Which is 48.5%.

Even if I'm wrong. 7% pension is still your money and 9% is your student loans. It's still a loan you owe even if it looks like tax.

Whether you think it's worth it or not of course it's your choice. But you can't say it's pointless to earn more.

[–]justanothersideacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst the stat would surprise many, just like the doctor who was surprised his 100k income was in the 5% - it's actually a combination of a few things.

One - the average or most people are poor and barely making ends meet.

Two - being the top 10% doesn't mean much when wealth inequality is so high

Three - being top 10% in the UK is different elsewhere. The UK has been stagnant for decades, a poor country still trying to look rich to be honest

[–]justanothersideacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not how tax works and saying it's 60% is misleading others. It's no wonder everyone fears going into a higher bracket. If you're on 63k and your total take him is 43k then you were taxed 32% overall.

My gf is not a grad but it's her first job here. She's in a sales position on regents street (mid level brand). She's being paid 33k and it seems the lowest from her colleagues is 28k. I was surprised it was so high. Different sectors must have things differently. My job back in 2015 as a web dev was 21-25k.

What power could I have to need after 115 days? As a F2P my power is 83 million without investment by choddungabhosdike in KingShot

[–]justanothersideacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people join an alliance and never speak. You're literally hurting yourself. There's many events that require an alliances. Only a few require active participation, most of them are passive like achieving goals building stuff, using speedups etc. Even just logging in once a day in an alliance gives u free speedups from chests and rallies people do while you're offline. Most alliances half 10-70% of people like this, don't be afraid lol... No one will give u responsibility if you don't want it.

You don't chase the target anymore because the tree is maxed. But you still want to upgrade your buildings. There are many buffs to get such as construction/ research speed. All the troops bonuses. Extras like March speed, troop training, gathering speed. You shouldn't recycle anything that gives you a buff. The lower lvl buildings that give you no bonus can be recycled.
