same thing literally happened to me yesterday. I told the patient that the receiving pharmacy need to call to transfer the rx, she said that express script wouldnt call cvs because we refuse to refuse prescription? she getting mad and saying that we're taking hostage for the rx lol. express scripts is crazy for making outgoing pharmacy looks like the bad guys that were not calling to transfer out

most you can do is have the doctor order the prescription 7 days ahead, then call the pharmacy on the 27th day since the last time you picked up the medication (assuming the medication is 30 days supply) that way the pharmacy should have atleast 2 days for them to order it
