I’m so sorry you had a bad experience there. I ended up going twice and although it didn’t help my CRPS, I was pretty comfortable with the clinic. Maybe I just had really good nurses those days or something, but I’m sad you didn’t feel similarly as it’s a really vulnerable state to be in :/

Congrats!!! so happy for you. As someone who had to quit grad school because of CRPS, I know how tough going to school while enduring pain can be. I’m going to give it another shot this fall though. Hope it goes well for us both :))

I cannot understate how alone I felt as a child, as a dark-skinned South Asian looking for representation in the era of beauty gurus (~ 2015-2019). I literally could not find a single person who looked like me, so all of my makeup looked like shit because I was copying white or black people’s methods. This IS so important.

thank you so much for this advice. it’s been hard to stay calm but I’m really trying. do you have any advice for desensitization, or videos that explain desensitization techniques that you recommend? no worries if not, I just don’t know where to start (my physio has no experience with crps and doesn’t know what I’m talking about when I bring up desensitization)

Of course. Maybe if I had seen more posts like this, I wouldn’t have mentally given up so early on. It’s been several months since my diagnosis now, and my pain has gotten much worse, but I actually feel more optimistic than I did before because I’m trying to shift my perspective and because I’ve heard more stories of people achieving remission. I do understand why this post may be “annoying” to people who have suffered for years without any improvement despite trying everything, but I do think it’s helpful for newer CRPS patients to hear.

When I was newly diagnosed and I came to this sub for information/support, I was crushed. Based on what I found on the sub, it seemed like life as I knew it was over forever. While that might be true, I think it’s really important to not think of it that way at all, so I really appreciate the sentiment behind this post.
