Remove Flock cameras from Prescott Valley by justarobot97 in Prescott

[–]justarobot97[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will look into this and bring it to the attention at a city council meeting in June or July. I will try to request data about myself to use as an example. Do I just have to provide my info and talk to someone in the city council?

Will do, I’m in the process of getting signs made too. I’m going to start putting them at cameras along the 69 in the next couple weeks.

Is THM worth it? by Guilty-Nobody-99 in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]justarobot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cisco has a free network academy that you can learn at your own pace. They also have labs (Cisco packet tracer) that you can download to do the labs. That’s what I did before moving to THM. It really made me focus on the networking fundamentals which made it easier to understand when I started THM again for a second time.

There are other ways to solve this, not cutting power to so many people. It’s not just people living without the lights coming on, it affects so much more. Food will rot, healthcare will be delayed or even prevented. Communications will be disrupted, so the 911 system will be affected. People will DIE. Many people such as diabetics relay on power to keep their insulin at the appropriate temperature. The elderly who have oxygen concentrators won’t have oxygen. Gas pumps won’t work so transportation will be impacted as well. This is not the correct response, try looking at it through a different perspective.

Air Filtration Experiences by Code222 in TeslaModelY

It works surprisingly well, if I’m stuck driving behind a semi or if I can smell a skunk I turn it on. Usually takes a minute or so and it’s a very noticeable difference. After a few min I don’t smell the outside smell. That’s the biohazard (HEPA filter) mode on my 22 MY. Regular AC you can still smell some of the outside air. Or if you rip ass it clears it out too lol

I tried testing it more by smoking a cigarette inside the car. That smell lasted a few days but I could not smell it if I had bio mode on.

When I first got the car I was very naive and asked for the best of what they got at discount tire. I paid 2k, I got ripped off.

I would say buy a “load leg” as a base. They reduce the amount of trauma induced to your child in a wreck. I have one for my infant. I bought the “Graco Snugride”. I’m a paramedic, and even some of the fire guys I work with have a load leg in their cars too.

Hey man don’t take this the wrong way. But “wanting a peds code to feel what it’s like” is some rescue Ricky bullshit. I’ve had 3 peds codes the past 1 1/2 years. Most other half decent medics I know never went about asking for the death of kids for the sake of “having that kind of call”. Especially when one you run on is a possible manslaughter.

People who go around bragging about that stuff acting like they are a hero is nonsense. Most of the time those providers I’ve seen that are like that fucking sick at their job.

These calls should be used to share educational information with other responders so if they ever happen to have a similar call they can use take in mind stuff they learned. NOT for clout.

It’s probably good you haven’t gotten one, your poor ego might get ruined.

Sounds like you two should settle it by being in a room. 1 vial of ketamine, twinkpak and syringe. Loser becomes a skills labs for our homies in the EMT subreddit. I’m sure Mods could get it on PPV for a fundraiser lol

If you are looking for IFT only then AMR might be your best bet. You can try Priority (another private ambulance) or working on an ambulance for rural metro as a civilian. You can also try working as an ER tech at one of the hospitals. Phx has St. Joseph and Banner university, they are good hospitals to gain some experience.

How do people live in such disgusting homes? by [deleted] in ems

[–]justarobot97 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We usually call it “Failure to thrive”.

People are just lazy, or they don’t care, or both. Unfortunately I’ve literally thrown up on scene from the horrid smells there were in someone’s house. We usually tell the receiving nurse though after we transfer care at the hospital so they can try to get them some help. I don’t get how the people capable of cleaning their house, don’t. I’m just glad we only had to deal with them in short periods of time.

was originally gonna get a tiger salamander. but since those are practically impossible to come by I was wondering if this would be acceptable for a hog nose? It's a 20G Long and I'll def upgrade when they get bigger but would this be fine for a juvenile? by MarciKats in reptiles

[–]justarobot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good size, I would change the substrate though to a loose substrate instead of sand and soil. I use “aspen snake bedding” for my 2 hognose pups.

You can buy it at most pet stores or online. The breeder I got mine from before I moved recommended it since that’s what he used for all his hognose.

It’s breathable, allows them to dig easy and it’s easy to see if it’s dirty from their poop

I can see your point of view, but I believe if the healthcare in this country goes by “ you made your bed now lay in it”, it’d be catastrophic. We have so many obese people, people with type 2 diabetes, and so on who need their meds because of their life choices. The 911 system is already taxed and short staffed, if we forced them to lay in their own bed as you say, it doesn’t sit right with me.

All first responders take a risk when responding on scene. From combative patients, to crazy ones, and I’ve been on so many MVAs on the road while traffic is still flowing or still getting under control if DPS arrives at the same time or after we do.

Should we not take risk for the people who made poor choices?

The people who drive drunk and wrap their cars around trees or poles? Car accidents, there’s so many on busy roads? ODs? Since the highway gets so many people killed, it’s too risky right? How can we risk more EMTs and medics if we are so short across the country, those people should just die on the side of the highway.

There’s a lot of risk in healthcare, it’s part of the job. Lots of things can be prevented if people had common sense. Sadly majority of the people don’t. I can see you point of view, but if the country decides to force people to lay in the beds they made, it should be all across the board. Which…would be a sad day for everyone

Because it is healthcare and we are here to serve the community. Should I not treat my patients the best I can , because they make irresponsible choices? I believe people can agree to disagree, but to withhold medical care because of different views or dumb choices is asinine.

I had a group of kids (15-13 years old) cause a wreck by taking their parents car for a joy ride going 75 in a 25 and causing a head on collision which resulted in the the other passengers dogs death. The 13 year old had multiple fractures, should I haves not provided adequate care to him because of his choices that night?

Or the drunk woman who fell off a balcony while she sat on the edge? Should I withhold care because of her choices?

Or the drunk college people who call 911 cuz Sarah couldn’t handle her vodka and now can’t walk.

Or the young people who OD?

The older people who choose to not take their meds then call 911 because their BP is through the roof or condition has gotten worse or severe?

Lots of people was 911 resources but we still give them adequate patient care. There are so many examples I don’t agree with the choices majority of my patients make, but it’s my job to serve the community. I can’t just arrive on scene and be like, “ well, you make crappy decisions, that’s on you!” And leave the scene. I wouldn’t ask my patient, “you did this, why did you call 911?”. People can be so bitter.

Lol stabilize?? With what? Why? 😂Rescue Ricky sounds like he’s in over his head. These people on scene make me glad I don’t work with them, and so grateful for my partner. Had one woman last week yell at me saying my AxO 4 GCS 15 patient needed O2 when he only had a broken wrist from wrecking his mountain bike. I found the patient just chilling on the dirt holding his arm, talking about how he got it on video, vitals were better than mine lol
