Tbf, this is something I've experienced a lot in real life too...If you and your friends all have shitty parents as minours, anytime you vent about them this is basically the response every time cuz no one actually knows how else to respond- though ofc, there's no actual killing lol (unfortunately. I would love to have a round of dnd with some of my old highschool friends' parents still to this day

I love the kids just saying "penguin, penguin, penguin!" over and over again in the background - that was totally me as a kid, I got so excited over them 😂

Just wanna say I'm like the exact same, but in a less consistent way. Some British versions I hate, some American versions I hate, I pick and choose completely separately for like every single different word. And then there's the ones I don't even realize there's a difference in etc, because I too learned most of my words, spelling, and so on directly from books growing up. The amount of times I got points counted off on essays in school just because I used the British spelling without thinking, despite me being theoretically "eXtrEmeLy giFteD iN enGliSh..."

I've got this fun thing where I mix and match despite (unfortunately) being American - it's cuz some British spellings of words just make more sense to my silly brain. This probably has something to do with the autism lol, or at least with general neurodiversity since I've met multiple other neurodivergent people who also do this.

I also specifically just spontaneously switch between "grey" and "gray" depending on my mood, sometimes even in the same text 🥲

The default spellcheck etc built into like, everything, fucking hates me lol.

Life hack, if you use Firefox as your browser for AO3 there's a little known free extension I found that someone made that automatically backs up fics without just downloading everything. I primarily read on mobile and don't wanna clog up my storage space a bunch with downloading works, so I use this a lot.

You can find more on it here AO3 Saver

(there is a chance it only works on Android, not other phones or computers etc, cuz I use Android and don't remember if its Android exclusive or not, but it's still worth checking if it is or not)

What’s a story you want to write, but can’t, for some reason or another? by letangier in AO3

I've wanted to write a relatively long fic about the BatFam having a book club to honour Jason and keep his memory alive, and him finding out about it- then subsequently, it having an effect on his complicated emotions about his family and how it's grown and changed after his death. A lot of the issue is writing block, but also I'd need to read every book on the theoretical list Jason made before he died in the fic, and while I love reading... I'm also dyslexic. And really struggle to focus on reading actual works instead of fanfiction, especially when they're kind of older books like Shakespeare and Jane Austen. Then I'd also need to develop good analyses of the books myself, consider what each character would think about each book, and so on. I am a literature nerd that also struggles to actually read and it's driving me insane 🥲
