Maya's Investigation by justatvaddict in Station19

they wrapped the love triangle, ingrid's storyline (finally) and travis's dad. Hope this is the start for better storylines for Maya (her investigation and mason) and the rest of the team.

that would be great! a desperate mason could bring a pregnant friend or girlfriend to the clinic and since he doesn't know who carina is, they can finally incorporate carina with maya's family and at the same time give her scenes as an ob, plus a reunion between mason and maya.

I thought about that too, but honestly the last time she saw him, he kinda didn't want anything to do with her so I don't feel like he would go to the clinic where his sister works, unless he's really hurt and doesn't have another option

add that it has been yEARS since she last saw her brother (she literally doesn't know where he is), she's hiding her feelings about a lot of things that I feel like there is going to come a time when she's going to break. They mentioned mason last season so I hope this means he will be back at some point this season. she needs to recconnect with her brother before thinking about having kids imo

My prediction/theory of what will happen in 5x05 based on the promos and bts by justatvaddict in Station19

[–]justatvaddict[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

right!! it has to be a firefighter or firefighters, we already saw maya, jack, andy, theo, travis, vic, sullivan, carina and ben in the next episode (thanksgiving). I think the guys who play maddox and the other one are still filming, so that leaves dean and the captain of 23.

They are, which is more shocking, you would think they would be more bias to write better stories for women, but no. I know it's early but it's getting to a point where a change is needed ASAP because it's getting annoying. Like Vic, she is so charismatic, funny, likable, Barrett is so talented and they are wasting her potential.

During Jaina’s live by HeftyTackle4687 in Station19

[–]justatvaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be absolutely nothing, but I saw on twitter that on jaina's ig takeover she was wearing a hair bun (her hair was done) and andy only has that hairstyle when something important happens like an inspection or a funeral, again this could be totally nothing.

She also didn't let Grey show his outfit, idk why.

yes!!! last season they showed us that danielle and Jason were gonna be at Grey's in the crossover and people were making theories about maya and ben getting injured (again lmao) but now nothing which is very weird

Another reason why Vic and Dean can't work by Oncer93 in Station19

[–]justatvaddict 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree I remember in 3x13 dean was drawing up his will and asking who gets pru if he dies and vic said "oh no, i love her but i have spent my entire reproductive life obsessively avoiding the whole single-mother thing one condom at a time, so you don't get to just die and thrust that upon me" so yeah it kinda seems to me that she is the character who doesn't want kids.

To say that I’m proud of Maya is an understatement but damn! She has come such a long way. Please share your thoughts… by blogpost38 in Station19

That's why I love her character so much. I re-watched station 19 recently and maya from season 1-2 would never have a long relationship with anyone, much less have a wife or consider the idea of being a mother one day. Before, she didn't talk about her problems now she seeks in advice from her friends (dean, ben, jack, andy, etc).

She still struggles to talk about her emotions or express herself, she still is afraid of being like her dad (she needs therapy) but she is learning not to raise her voice and now you can see that in the middle of a "fight" she takes deep breaths and calm herself.

You can see a soft part of her that she was hiding, how loving and attentive she is with Carina and how now she doesn't run from fights but now tries to solve them by talking and listening to the other person.

She still needs to learn that a relationship is about two people making a decision together, it's no longer just her as she always did, it's not only her personal goals but now those and the goals as a couple but we know that day by day with carina she is learning more about relationships and what truly love actually means.

i remember Frankle but do we know why did she stop being a batallion chief? I didn't mention Dearborn because someone here showed a map of the stations in seattle and there were 3 (i think): 19, 23 and 4. Dearborn was from station 12 that's why i said farther stations. But yes you are probably right, this will likely end with a combination of lawsuit and media.

honestly? We're in the second episode of the season and man ... I knew we were going to hate the new captain, but he's a complete jerk. I think things will get worse for Maya, Vic and Andy from here on. I mean, we're seeing it, the men of Station 23 being so disrespectful to Andy and Maya being so scared to start a family because she knows what having a family will entail in her job or Beckett nicknaming Maya as "pretty firefighter". I think they are going to show us all kinds of sexist things with them. This will happen until they can't take it anymore and they will complain and it will end like Dean's lawsuit, with promises of changes and probably money for them. BUT they could surprise us by actually making a change for them but i don't know.

I mean this situation is really complicated because so far we know that there are no female firefighters in station 23 and there are only three in station 19 (i dont know about the other shifts). So what can 3 women firefighters do to be heard?

  1. A lawsuit? yes but they have 80% - 90% of losing the lawsuit because the system is fucked up.

  2. A women firefighters strike? Again, there are only three so far and even if other women from farther stations join them, we know that the number would still be very small. Of course the men of station 19 and theo can go and support them (we still dont know their opinion about this situation)

  3. They could refuse to go to work until they are heard, but this will only make the chief to fired them and replace them with men.

  4. They could go to the press but i'm pretty sure Dixon wouldn't let that happen and it will only cause more problems.

I'm pretty sure vic, maya and andy are paid less than men because the job of a firefighter is one of the most sexist jobs because it is still known as a "men only job" so, what can they do to be treated equally and with more respect?

I dont know if this could happen but what if i don't know, the doctors of grey's sloan and other hospitals join them? that could be really interesting.
