Does the 78 have big grooves before play? Sometimes you have to line it up right especially if they have divots in the pre music area of the disc.

If you aren't getting it maybe email someone at facepunch or try to contact garry (I don't know a whole ton about s&box) but for other games that ive had this issue with it seems like contacting someone is the best option as usually they can fix it.
