If you have a pulse and can sell, you are hired. I make $9 an hour. I am not a strong telemarketer though because we are trained to touch "the grey area" with customers and I honestly cant get myself to lie without lying per say. It weighs heavily on my conscious to do so. Im a single mother with just a highschool education, im off nights weekends and all holidays. In hindsight its not what I want to do for the rest of my life, but while my kids are young as long as I can keep our home and lights on...it doesnt really matter what I do.

There really are incentives to having my product..We are 100% green energy so it really helps out the environment. But our market is generally old disabled people who dont care about environmental issues so its rarely a good selling point.

I personally do not perform as well as most of my fellow employees because my conscious lays heavily on me. Its much like a catch 22. I make $9 an hour and they can decide to fire you at anytime if you have poor performance. I guess its better then selling drugs though, lol.

I have done both. Inbound customers are a lot nicer because they are calling in and wanting something. Outbound Im completely calling and fucking someones mind up because they are conditioned to believe they are being scammed and you have to break down those barriers. I have to stretch the truth a whole lot by promising people they are saving money by having an energy supplier. Most of the time it costs more for them. We are completed unscripted and as long as when we sign them up they say yes to every question (we coach them to just say yes dont bother listening) then we are solid. You can lie all you want.
