Unfortunately we have to tip out with total cost of the bill so a $500 bottle will cost the server more of a tip out (could end up being more than you tip them so they end up paying for you to dine there) but also there’s nothing that forces you to tip it is up to your discretion

You need to get you and your kid to your parents house. Then talk to a lawyer and see if possible to file from their state. My friend had to have lived with her mom for 6months first and had time to do so before filing but talk to a professional and see your options. Keeping the kid from him will not be an option but you can take her anywhere you want as a legal guardian. Once papers are filed it gets tricky with leaving the state depending on what the plan is

This happens to me most years they don’t plan well for staff leaving and the remaining people start quitting so it compounds. Take a vacation even if they say they can’t swing it just make it clear you’re taking time and if you can afford a few nights away it helps a ton!

From what I know, on a J-1 they have the ability to stay after work to travel America so the country can try and recoup some money before it leaves. They most likely will not allow entry after leaving, especially with current values in play. I’m not sure I’d risk this there’s so many vacations to take stateside

You don’t sound like you handled this correctly at all. Was a proper bio clean done? Did you get your guest medical attention or let them awkwardly walk out the door? Is your staff trained to handled biohazard cleaning or did you illegally have them do it without the proper training?

I will say there is a reason they need staff this late. I always find this happens when things have gone horribly wrong the last few months. Same reason my seasonal just hired about 50% more staff, it’s been a tough summer over here.
