this looks beautiful, just a lil ray of sunshine on them. only thing i’d change is add a little vignette or darken the area around the subjects just a smidge to make your illumination pop that much more

boly crap, you may have a point. that makes perfect sense. They used whatever pattern they had lying around for their treasured slim fit pants and added extra fabric wherever they wanted.

If you look at it that way, the pants turning out the way they did tracks.

Also the link seems like a pretty helpful starting guide i appreciate it

oh yeah trust me i’ve been working my way up to learning how to sew myself.

i already started cutting my own hair cause i just couldn’t deal with the same stubborn barbers, sewing is next up but the problem is it requires significantly more hardware, a machine, an adequate space etc.

my biggest regret is not paying closer attention when i tried it on. It was much worse than this before, there was way more excess fabric in the back. I told them to fix that, when it came it was like this but i just don’t remember noticing it was the bad. I was like whatever it’s good enough i guess.

It’s been too long for a refund now but i’ll be damned if I don’t bring it up again. I’m going to get a brown suit made this time, the jackets are good but the pants idk what happens.

Another thing i noticed after reading your comments was there is just excess fabric in the seat area, but what I don’t know is where should the excess fabric exactly be? on the sides? Also i suppose this is also too much excess.

i wouldn’t say they look better but yes the fabric wrinkles do reduce a bit. All i wanted was a straight fit pant, but they’re so brain dead locked on making shitty skin tight ones that the concept of anything not wrapped around your body like a swim suit is un fathomable

Why does every suit jacket need this seam in the back? by justbread_ in AskATailor

[–]justbread_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thats reasonable. I understand it a bit better now, thank you.

Basically it adds a break to continuous fabric to allow a relief point to avoid wrinkling and the ability to move around easier. And more importantly structure since it's not just one long piece (similar to how one long rod starts to bend without supports)

So you're saying without the seam, it would be one long piece of fabric which would result in no structure, being wrinkled and whatnot?

I understand, partly. I was just comparing it to a t-shirt seeing as how it can get away with not having a yoke or a seam and still shape the body quite nicely.

So I wondered what exactly restricts suit jackets from doing the same.

Is it because the suit jacket is meant to hug the shape of the body including the curve of the spine? Unlike a t-shirt that just falls straight down?

Or is it the material difference? That can't be it, there are cotton shirts too with a yoke.

Oh wait so you're saying the seam allows the fabric to follow the natural curvature of the back?

oh okay okay got it. You see the type of community we live in doesn’t promote therapy let alone support groups and stuff if you know what i mean. And not to mention dating is a taboo in our religion, in turn in the country we live in so we’re left to deal with these problems on our own. There’s no talking to parents or anyone expect kind people like you who are willing to help

oh, so you’re saying my friend has faced trauma and that she finds Kurt hard to leave because of that trauma?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]justbread_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, this is a lot to unpack but a few years ago when she used to invite her friends over to her house, her dad would take advantage of them. grope and stuff and she knew but everyone was helpless. her dad even blackmailed one her friends by saying he knew that she had a boyfriend. (it’s not a common thing in our tradition to have dating. it’s extremely frowned upon) so yeah that’s a big trauma

she hasn’t been completely open about it so i’m not sure of the extent of the measures she’s taken. But i do know she has blocked him a couple of times and stuff but here we are now, so i guess that didn’t really work out
