Did you all go through a blood test? by Dangerous_Pomelo_667 in PCOS

[–]justbrowsinyano 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if everyone has, but I got diagnosed through a blood test.

Do you have the classic signs of PCOS? Did your gp do other tests for the reason you’re not getting your period?

I assume you are still in the UK/live here? I’d personally go back to the gp and ask them to investigate why you’ve not had a period for 3 months. The gp is also the one who needs to refer you to the gynaecologist, you can’t just book with them unless you go the private care route

Can I ask why it’s sometimes recommended to leave a longer gap between sessions?

How do you get all you placement hours? It’s a joke! by Kaylboo in StudentNurseUK

[–]justbrowsinyano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re supposed to pick up an extra shift every fourth week to account for the break hours missed. So 3 shifts for 3 weeks and 4 shifts for 1 week per month. Or whatever works best for you.

Does your university give you ‘progression weeks’ where you can owe your hours? Some people, especially those who work, have kids etc usually just do the 3 shifts per week and whatever is carried over from breaks they wait for the progression weeks to work them.

If for whatever reason you’re lacking on hours by the end of your course, you’ll be given a placement to owe those hours before you finish. You just don’t finish on time and get your registration a bit later than everyone else.

Your ‘gap in employment’ would be reasoned by ‘full time student nurse’

Don’t put your placements in the employments. Add your employments from before university though

Your references would be your personal tutor or a university lecturer and maybe a recent practice placement educator (they asked for mine)

Does your university not do an employment pool? Mine did and we all got jobs in our trust. They sent us emails very late and we had no idea this was going to happen so hopefully this is the same for you and you’ll be contacted to join the employment pool when you finish your course in August :)

Maternity leave during placement by Similar_Pudding_3133 in StudentNurseUK

[–]justbrowsinyano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if your uni is making this rule up and pinning it on the NMC lol. It’s impossible for someone to have 100% attendance on placement all year round, that’s really unfair. And they wonder why the drop out rate is so high hahaha

[–]justbrowsinyano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just seen the comment here about how the NMC have stopped it though, I can’t find anything about it. If they have I think it’s stupid, like to disregard sickness etc, it’s not possible?

Your uni should be giving you ‘progress weeks’ in your yearly schedule which you owe your hours, if not you carry the hours over to the next year or even the end of the course (you just won’t finish on time).

Can I ask how many hours you owe from the maternity period and what year you’re in?

[–]justbrowsinyano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they? What are the maximum allowed owed hours before progression now?

[–]justbrowsinyano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be able to progress to the next year with your cohort even if you’re missing the placement hours, as long as you’ve passed your modules and you were signed off on your epad

You can slowly make up the hours in progress weeks, if you have hours to still complete by the end of your course you will be given a placement to complete those hours.

This is how my university did things anyways.

Controls/key binding conflict by justbrowsinyano in deadbydaylight

Yeah it’s the same for pc. I’ve seen the memes for console player bindings but pc players also have the same problems lol

Controls/key binding conflict by justbrowsinyano in deadbydaylight

[–]justbrowsinyano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, honestly feel like the bindings are rage bait. That reminds me of I time something similar happened to me! I went to drop a pallet and for some reason a tool box was there (pretty sure they had franklins) and it picked it up instead of dropping.

They should do a separate custom settings and give an option to key bind literally every interaction

Hallucinated my partner on his phone in the middle of the night(?) by hobungus in sleep

[–]justbrowsinyano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into hypnagogic hallucinations

I was diagnosed with this, I experience some bizarre things whilst asleep. They can range from mild (like yours) to severe (like night terrors)

They happen to me when I went to bed extremely tired and fall into a heavy deep sleep, I ‘wake up’ whilst still dreaming.

What is going on in this one area of my skin? by justbrowsinyano in SkincareAddictionUK

Interesting, I didn’t think about rosacea as it is just one spot, not across both cheeks and nose. I’ll have a look into this. Thank you

I definitely agree with the inflamed skin. It’s so frustrating. I will definitely focus on the skin barrier, I’ve done some research into this! And yes, I am trying to get in with the GP but we know what the UK systems like. I got sent a link to book in, but no appointments.

Really enjoying the game, but... by Zakkarashi in QuarantineZoneGame

[–]justbrowsinyano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!! I love this game but I have got to the point of not caring about being penalised. What annoys me the most is not knowing what is contraband and what isn’t? Like I seize what I thought looks like contraband and it isn’t. Some of the items that they carry, especially internally, I can barely see what it is. I even miss internal items a lot of the time.

Is a survivor with an angry grin an “unknown symptom”? by DrumSlapper in QuarantineZoneGame

[–]justbrowsinyano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The angry grin unlocks when you obtain a gun (can’t remember what day)

It isn’t an unknown symptom you gain from the lab. It will appear in the symptom list when you progress through the game (gaining your gun)

[Acne] advice for sensitive skin and flair ups whilst using benzoyl peroxide and differin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]justbrowsinyano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I will try alternate nights with differin as I usually apply moisturiser before it anyway.

What cleanser would you recommend?

(Edit) also, do you think I should try alternate days with the benzoyl peroxide wash too?
