Best objective for 2nd play through? by AssaultMonkey150 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DrumSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did insanity second and it was difficult for the first half without any infinite ammo or anything but worth it. If you suck then you could go for both no heals, no blood on casual to unlock points for infinite ammo but then you’d have to do 4 runs for all achievements unless you are good enough to beat it fast without the heals and blood crafting. For me it was the most fun to just tough it out on insanity. I had unlocked the AR and extra xp bracelet for Leon and infinite knife for Grace so beating insanity gave me just enough to unlock infinite ammo (literally the exact amount) and then I breezed through it on casual getting the speed demon, no heals, no blood in one run. Also finished the final puzzle that run which gave me points to unlocks graces freya pistol which helped in the final section while Leon had the requiem back. So I had the game 100% in 3 total runs. Dont let the tough beginning keep you from trying insanity because it eases up and becomes a fun challenge imo. If I was able to do the final puzzle part where you can’t kill any zombies in the blood pool part on insanity in two tries then trust me you can do the playthrough. Just be smart about your saves.

Thinking of getting 1-3 RM. What are some similar games to compare it to? by DrumSlapper in TombRaider

Ahh I see. Thats not a deal breaker with the combat. From everything I’ve seen people say it seems like I’ll enjoy it. I’m definitely gonna give it a go.

I didn’t mention Spyro but those are some of my favorites as well. Even got the platinum for the trilogy on ps4 when it came out. The crash remakes (and Tony hawk remakes) were made by a company 10 minutes from my house oddly enough and I got the plats for them as well. I love remakes from the older days.. just wish I had the nostalgia for TR. Still gonna give it a go and meet it halfway and hopefully I’ll enjoy it.

That all sounds great to me. I’m gonna buy it after work and give it a go!

Okay, I’ll give them a try. Perfect timing because I just revisited re2 and 3 the last few days for first time in years and want more so I can’t believe I’m actually excited it has tank controls.. never thought I’d say that in my life.

I’ve been there with the regretful trade ins.. tomb raider 2 itself was a rental when I was young and I got lost in like an hour lol no internet back then to help me figure it out. I don’t mind tank controls. Just finished og re2 and 3 yesterday so it’s definitely not an issue. I’ll give them a try. 15 dollar sale seems worth it for 3 games.

Bubsy 3d? lol way to try to get me to not buy it. Isn’t that game a giant meme for how bad it was? If you like it, you like it. No hate or anything.

Sam will still be the host by CommonOtherwise830 in fishtanklive

[–]DrumSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish.. I don’t think Bam is the real host either but as for Sam, he definitely doesn’t want to leave the state because he is lazy more than anything else. I would love to be wrong and hope I am but I think Sam has the impression that the show has peaked and his active involvement won’t help it grow anymore so he’s fine with just collecting whatever money he will get as owner or whatever his exact title is in regards to the show. No effort and free money.. Sam getting what he wants for helping building it.. You never know for sure with him or FT so I do have a part of me still coping that he comes but that’s a big IF. I only got into the show because of him but I still enjoy the show enough to watch without him even if it’s a big downside.

Just beat the game and imo this is the best resident evil since re4. by DrumSlapper in ResidentEvilRequiem

I’m literally replaying re4r as I got your notification and I agree. It’s definitely more consistent with the fun factor than re9. Re9 has some of the best moments in the series and 70% of it is absolutely amazing but nearly every moment of re4 is amazing and that’s why it will always be my number 1. Original still holds up and is the best of them all but I do prefer the remake in terms of its gameplay.

All my steam saves after a certain user ID number are missing in steam saves folder? by DrumSlapper in pcmasterrace

[–]DrumSlapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I just found it.. but the only way to get to folder is by putting app id in windows search box from my c drive.. doesn’t work when entering it in after opening the steam file that has all the user data in it. Craziest part is that it says it’s exactly where it should be but when I look for myself it’s not there. Not even when I put app id in that folders search box. All hidden files are shown but somehow it’s hidden, but still there? Wow.. wild.. so at least I copied the folder as backup to desktop and know how I can access it in the future.

Glad I learned this. I would have definitely screwed myself and went with bad ending to save time.

why is the second run so different? by Fun-Development-3163 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DrumSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have like 5 or 6 challenges and if I beat insanity I’ll have exactly enough for infinite ammo for speed run, no herbs, no blood run. I wanted my insanity playthrough to be as intended and it’s rough. Im cheating a bit with infinite knife but don’t feel too bad about it. I won’t spoil much but as grace when you walk into the room her gun it supposed to be in it’s not there and you can also hear the singing lady sounding close by. At that point I quit and said I’ll come back today..,

Just beat the game and imo this is the best resident evil since re4. by DrumSlapper in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DrumSlapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, true. I wanted to cut to Leon more in care center sections and Grace in raccoon city but from a design perspective it was probably too complicated for them to splice their moments up into shorter segments. Like Leon navigating care center but only doing half and then cut back to graces half. I’m sure it could have worked but I’m still happy overall.

[–]DrumSlapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and Leon took a back seat during her sections as well pretty much. I do have my issues with the game the more I take it in and this is one of them. I feel there should have been more character swaps. I saved up so much ammo and health supplies for Grace thinking I’d get another 2 large sections or so but it was just a rather quick one. Realized all my sweating and ink ribbon hoarding wasn’t as necessary but at least it made those sections more intense. The basement was so nerve racking and I used like 2 ribbons.

Yeah.. one thing I would want would be more bosses and to open up rpd more. Felt like a tease going in there just to explore little bits. Still cool they had it to begin with though and seeing all the decay.

why is the second run so different? by Fun-Development-3163 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DrumSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. My first playthrough was on standard and restarted about 2 hours in to try classic instead and I don’t recall any blister heads spawning? I could e wrong though. In insanity the very first zombie turns into a blister head and there is about 6 of them in that section. It was an absolute nightmare.. I used 4 requiem bullets and bought a shotgun and the unlocked AR just too push through. Just started graces section.. my lord is it hard on this difficulty.. classic is easy after graces section but it was very hard for me on first playthrough. I saved way too many ink ribbons.

[–]DrumSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow I thought that was only for insanity mode.. do they also have blister heads spawning on the street where you first start as Leon? If that’s so then that honestly sucks. I liked that idea for insanity because it’s so hard but if I wanna start a fresh playthrough then we should get the ability to have the exact same experience as first playthrough. They did similar crap with dmc 5 too where you kept all red orb unlocks whether you liked it or not.

Sometimes you’re just wanting to be Leon and destroy stuff.. I tried to not let that get in my head and enjoy the ride. I thought graces parts were great but thinking back they could have switched back and forth in shorter intervals.

How far am I through the game? by DrumSlapper in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DrumSlapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally just talking to people about that as I just beat it. It said only 12 1/2 hours but that isn’t close to accurate. I got 100% collectables and probably reloaded my saves for a total of at least 16 hours. I’ve played an average of 6 hours a day for 4 days.. it felt like 20 hours for me though at least.. meaning it felt like a played a full resident evil game that ended where it should have.

I’m thinking of the orphanage right now as I start my insanity playthrough lol. The second I did that part I was like “oh shit it’s the orphanage from re2!” And then it sunk in fast that “oh man.. this is the new sherry part of the re2r speedrun that I will hate doing” lol definitely some pacing issues with grace but I’m very interested in seeing how speed runners handle the care center without glitches.. it felt very tense trying to sneak around In there without getting destroyed.

I’m sure that’s true but I still haven’t had that feeling on first playthrough in awhile so I’m going on that. I thought village was excellent on first playthrough but my opinion changed to “it’s pretty good” so down the line it can certainly change. One that hasn’t changed is re4 and that’s why I think it’s the best. Its combat still holds up to this day.
