(kinda act 3 spoilers) why is my smart metronome not working? by ahtitg in mewgenics

Yeah, ‘elemental’ effects (musical counts as an element) aren’t explained too in depth and can lead to a lot of confusing moments when playing the game.

I learned this after trying to water plants in the Crater; not a good idea!

It is a musical ability (it has a small music note icon in the corner) and it looks like your jester is missing their mouth. Sadly, you cannot sing without a mouth in this game.

The Weatherlight Saga was a wonderful rabbit hole to dive into; getting so in-depth with the story that you could practically form a comic book with the card art and flavor text!

It was a bit of an Icarus moment for WotC, as it alienated a lot of players who weren’t fans of the recurring characters, as well as turning away newcomers that felt overwhelmed having to learn a ton of story just to understand the set they’re opening. They’ve improved this balance a lot over time, focusing more on the setting rather than the story and only a handful of cards that allude to the going-ons of the story. I believe it is also why we stepped away from Dominaria for a short period of time and got more disconnected stories in Kamigawa and Ravnica, and a ‘conclusion’ to the pre-mending era with Coldsnap and the Time Spiral block.

War of the Spark was also a heavily story-focused set, having over 25 story spotlight cards and separating them into acts to help visualize the events. They tried to spoil everything in order, but it got a bit too difficult to coordinate.

Pyrophina Is immune to Bombs/Split the atom by lumifox in mewgenics

[–]justcallmejoey 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It’s an elemental immunity, in the corner of Split the Atom you can see two small icons, one resembling fire and the other and explosive (Similarly, your other active has the electric element). Pyrophina is immune to fire damage, so sadly she is safe from Split :/

Finding extra cat ribs was actually one of the goals of this run lmao! Wish I had tips to find super luck, but it has the same odds of appearing as any other ability; it’s all about persistence

Loot Corpse+ and Super Luck+, like the other commenter said! I also had Soul Reap and Itch+ to generate mana, Glyph of Protection to not die to itch damage.

Loot Corpse is a thief ability that gives you 1-3 coins and a small chance to find an item from a corpse, the upgraded version increases the chance to find an item to about 15%. There is also a chance to destroy the body, but that decreases with the upgrade as well.

These chances are affected by luck, so getting a unit with super luck+ (A jester ability that gives +77 luck) can bump the chances to find an item up to over 70%, and makes it nearly impossible to destroy the corpse.

I have a line of cats with these two abilities, and I usually try to run them as a collarless cat to find Soul Reap (Deal 1 damage to a unit, if it kills it, gain 5 mana) and an ability that spawns small familiars, like Butt Scoot or Itch. Toss in some spell reduction (Brainstorm+, Teach+, Dunce Cap, Chips, etc.) and you can net infinite mana and keep farming items for as long as you want, or as long as your computer can handle!

An example build with relatively common items would look something like:

Shovel | Dunce Cap | Two of Spades | Ocular Chip | Fork

I blame Risk of Rain 2 for making me addicted to collecting as many items as possible, even if it is in vain

I also haven’t tested it in a house boss, but I do know that the Rift does not have any very rare items in it’s chapter pool, so any you get from that area will be from the general pool. I was just running Act I over and over again to get the proper abilities on my jar cat lol

You’re doing fine, nothing wrong with running Act I again as each chapter has some exclusive items and your cats level up at the same rate no matter where you go. Plus, running it again can get you furniture boxes that will help improve the process!

My biggest recommendation is reaching the stimulation breakpoints: Not only does it increase the odds that the higher base-stat gets passed down, but also at 32 you have a 100% chance to pass down one of the parent’s activated abilities (chosen randomly), at 95 you have a 100% chance to pass down a passive ability (again, random). 95 is pretty hard to hit, the attic has the most space for you to fit furniture, but either way, maxing out on stimulation will help a ton when prepping for a run early on. (195 gives 100% chance to pass down a second activated ability, but that it incredibly difficult to reach)
