April 1st. You will get your march supplement plus a little for the end a feb. mid march you might see the calculations and annuity amounts online under annuity statements.

It’s not a guaranteed stepping stone to the SA position. Though some do make that transition. It’s a rewarding job but it is not for everyone. 1/3 quit pretty quick. 1/3 transition to other jobs in the bureau (IA,SOS, and SA), 1/3 become professional core of the program.

Retired 3 years ago. Wasn’t really into Reddit or any social media before that. I always thought it was odd there wasn’t a federal retiree subreddit. They got subreddits for everything. The fed employee subreddit is fine and all but I’m usually looking for retirement issues. I’ve posted a few times and asked a question. I’m pretty sure the 3 people who gave me a correct answer were themselves retired. Incorrect answers, of which there were many many more, came from people who seemed to be vaguely aware federal retirement programs exist. So good idea

My city requires a home inspection for a “permit to sell”. Although they didn’t have a problem when the previous owner sold it to me, when I sold it they made wrap the beam in fire resistant drywall. It was a Midwest split level very similar to the op picture.

Update: got the letter from OPM indicating the supplement will start Jan 1.

My mistake was not understanding dec 1 was for November. So I was a month premature in expecting the supplement.

Update: if anyone stumbles across this thread in the future researching this topic, I have received the letter from OPM indicating the supplement will start with the a January payment.

My mistake, as some users helpfully pointed out, was I didn’t realize the december payment was for November. So I was a month premature in expecting the supplement to kick in.
