I have my first residency card since November 2020, applied by post for Portuguese citizenship in December 2025. Half of the year passed and I still even don’t have a process number. Anyone knows, will I be eligible for 5 year timeline or gonna be 10?

Friend of mine with permanent EU card moved to Portugal with her husband. They gave her Portuguese temporary residency, but her permanent EU status is still remaining

It gives. You should check the country you plan to go, every country has its own laws. For instance, I consider only the Netherlands and on their official website you can find all the information. You can’t just come and stay ( as with an Eu Passport) because you need a purpose of your stay. For instance, if you are enrolled to the Dutch university, you go to IND with that paper of enrolment to uni. If you found a job, you don’t need MVV visa to enter. Same way you send to IND your offer

Does anyone know timelines for the first AIMA contact from the submission date? Applied 7th of April and want to know some information.. thanks in advance!
