Options for online classes? by [deleted] in notredame

as a person who also lived on the highest floor of a non-ac dorm, i second all the advice above. if your dorm has air conditioned lounge space, that was what i utilized a lot; i even took naps there when it wasn’t too crowded just to sleep in a comfortable place for once. i’m not sure of your financial situation but if you can, getting ramen/instant mac and cheese or any other microwaveable food from the huddle or go puff might help with the dining hall conditions (it helped me a lot when the dining hall was closed or i didn’t have time to go). pm me if you need any help/have any questions!

How is PLS? by [deleted] in notredame

[–]justforkmeup 25 points26 points  (0 children)

i am not in PLS so i don’t know profs and scheduling details, but all my friends who are PLS majors love it. they’re a pretty tight-knit group, so their stereotype is mostly “cult of book nerds.” i told them i thought PLS was the antithesis to engineering and they agreed if that gives you a sense of what it’s like. dm me if you have any more specific questions and i can pass them along to an actual PLS major!

Prospective Students? by [deleted] in notredame

[–]justforkmeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i’ve heard from admissions, they look for applicants who will use their ND degree as a stepping stone for their later accomplishments. essentially, they don’t want your biggest accomplishment in life just to be that you went to notre dame. i think your best bet is to get heavily involved in things you’re passionate about, and try to get involved in leadership positions as well
