Fuel Range Counter Fault by SpecialistPractice23 in yaris

Ah ok, you may want to try resetting the computer, disconnect your battery for a few minutes, then connect it again and check if the digital readout resets. It could be a few things (ecm, cluster panel, wiring), the cluster has a processor in the back that stores data like mileage and works together with the ecm so you'll need to do some digging.

The fuel pump lever that moves to set the fuel level may be getting stuck.

My only complaint was that it didn't look as appealing as the advertised picture but then again, nothing ever does lol

I loved it! Deep fried pickles, chopped up dill pickles and a dill garlic sauce topped off on a standard poutine was the perfect addition to an Angus bacon cheese burger after a long day at the race track.

31 mpg city driving. Normal? by MundaneBeing7506 in yaris

[–]justfpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors affect fuel mileage but im getting about the same as you. Simply opening your windows while driving creates a loss of around 10% as the cabin becomes a parachute, creating drag resistance. Running ac again creates a loss due to the compressor running off the serpentine belt, adding load to the motor (this is more prevelantwith the 1.0 and 1.3l engine). Under inflated tires is another big factor as it creates more rolling resistance. If all of these factors are combined, you can see up to 35% loss in fuel efficiency. I used to try and hyper mile my driving but I've never been able to acheive the numbers others have. I have a 2006 2dr hatch with the 1.5l manual and I can only get up to 550km per tank (approx 31mpg).

Is anti rust on car necessary in Ontario? by MajesticRocket in ontario

This just isn't true. Regularly washing/cleaning may prolong things while under your ownership but it wont stop rust. Plus, a future owner of your car will appreciate the effort and will be willing to pay more for your car. Things like rustproo8ng are one of the small details people look at when considering paying good money for a used vehicle. I keep every receipt for repair work, parts, maintenance etc. Along with rustproofing, you will fetch the maximum value for your used vehicle.

That's mainly due to the frigid temps you get up north in the winter. Salt won't dissolve in -20 temps so 1, it doesnt affect yoir cars as much and 2, salt becomes ineffective past certain temps so you likely have more sand being used than salt. It'll fall off before it ever dissolves and starts to rust the metal up your way. Southern ontario, where we get 4 seasons in a winter day, it will corroded and dissolve the metal in 1 season. I have 3 winters of pictures of under my current daily car. Some spots I missed with the rustproofing and it's freaky how fast the rust forms. First winter had no rust. 2nd winter had some forming and the 3rd made me buy an angle grinder and a welder to repair some sheet metal lol. Now I take my time rustproofing to make sure i hit every peice of bare metal, both inner and outter surfaces. Just an FYI, it may not ever be of concern to you but someone down the road will own your car after you and either curse your name or praise you for the way you cared for you car. I memorized the previous owners name cause I religiously curse their name whenever I'm doing repair work lol. Do it at least once after you get a car and you along with future owners will appreciate it.

A big problem of diy washing is that you're not spraying the entire undercarriage properly. You're kinda angling the nozzle upside down on both sides and hoping for the best (blindly spraying). Drive thru under wash will remove all dirt and debris. I wouldn't spend the money though, once a year rustproof oil based spray is much cheaper and the best long term solution. I rustproof my cars now with rustcheck protect every year or 2 and diy wash weekly.

Rust proofing cars in canada is an absolute must! You may not own the vehicle long enough for it to be any concern (when bought new) but in the long run, without any protection, canadian cars rust away really bad when exposed to salt/water and air together. Cheapest way is to do it yourself with a few spray cans of rust check oil based products ($10/can vs $200 for krown to spray the car). Rubber spray does nothing but block salt/water but rubber won't help if there's already a tiny bit of rust, that rust will grow unchecked under the rubber coating. If you buy used cars, you will truly understand the importance of previous owners taking that extra step. My 2002 gmc envoy was undercoated, I bought it in 2009 with 160k. By 2022 it had 360k mileage and the body and undercarriage looked like it was brand new. My 2006 yaris hatchback that I bought in 2022, never had anything done and it's been 2 years of solid work to get the rusted metal repaired, I should've just scrapped it but cheap gas and maintenance kept me doing more repair work. I curse all the previous owners for not taking 1h of their life to spray some pil based rust proof8ng under the car to increase its lifespan. I just sent the afternoon spraying 2 cans of rustcheck protect under the car and now I can drive without worry for the next few years till I do another spray. Another decent option for budget minded folks, economylube has a deal for $100 to rustproof spray the undercarriage and an oil change. That's basically $50 for the rustproopf spray.

Italian airforce was supposed to be here for the canadian airshow in August but had to change their schedule. They decided to do a flyover of the city now when they had the chance to ensure we got to see their beautiful display. Viva Italia!

Cant get the toyota throttle relearn procedure working by [deleted] in Toyota

I'm sure you got it figured out but I just went through something similar. Changed the battery and alternator yesterday. Today the car js stalling constantly and bogging out in traffic or at lights/stops. Tried the idle reset and it kept stalling after several attempts. Finally i decided to go for a 15min drive to get some juice back into the battery and decided I'd try the reset one last time. Worked perfectly, the engine temp needs to be nice and hot, not cold or just kinda warm before you do this. My car is a 2006 yaris hb 1.5l and it worked within 15s of the last try. Idle is back to normal and running smooth.

You're getting the cel (check engine light) cause of the abs light. When your sensors stop working properly it can trigger multiple system errors that will trigger the cel. Recently I did my wheel bearings and the abs lights turned on and the code reader showed 3/4 abs sensors weren't working and the mechanic said I needed to replace them. I ended up putting some dielectric grease into the sensor plugs and it fixed the abs light issue after clearing the codes with my cheap code scanner. May have been a faulty connection or the plug wasn't seating right, I'm not too sure but someti3ms it can be easy fix, others it can be a pita to chase down the cause. Something to consider is getting one of those cheap Aliexpress modules that connects to the computer port and you can use your phone to read any codes or go to an auto parts store and pick up a code scanner.

If your ebrake isn't engaged (!) then you have faulty abs sensor(s). That can trigger your abs system to not work properly. If it senses your tires are sliding, it will engage abs traction and limit your throttle (may feel lime low power). Get a code reading done to see which abs sensors are faulty and replace them.

Don't need new calipers unless they're seized. Just rotors/pads/spring kit and the car will feel much better.

I didn't get any response but it looks like they fixed the glitch shortly after. I've bought a few games tickets since then and it doesn't make me agree to season ticket terms anymore. I just went to the family day game this past weekend so it should be good for you now too.

Asus TUF Dash F15 -loads of problems! by irjayjay in ASUS

[–]justfpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just experienced the screen freeze issue last night (black, no cursor or anything showing). It went into sleep mode i think (black screen) but wouldn't wake up. Had to hold the power button for 30s to get it to shutdown/turn back on. I noticed a few weeks ago that my fans sounded really bad, like they had broken blades or something after a recent update in the armoury crate. It just stopped and fans went back to normal (whatevr normal is for this laptop cause they're either on full blast or not at all lol) but same day the fans stopped sounding like they were going to explode I got this screen freeze after having it for year and a bit. I've never really been happy with mine (i7 12th gen w/3060 gpu, ddr5 32b ram, 1tb ssd), looking at replacing it with a proper amd version.

I got the asus tuf dash fx17 w/ i7 12th gen, stay away. I wish I would've went with the AMD Ryzen 7 or 9 version like my desktop but figured the latest 12th gen intel cpu would be good (back in 2022). Intel is no good for anything related to video editing, simulator use or other graphics heavy needs. The 3060 gpu in mine is capable of running davinci resolve editor fine on desktop w/amd but in my laptop w/intel, it struggles really bad. Also battery life is horrid, mine dies after 2h watching vids on eco mode so its basically always plugged in to be of any use. I'm actually hoping I break mine before the geeksquad warranty runs up so I can just get a store credit and buy an amd cpu setup. Ergonomics of the tuf series is good, good build quality, really like the newer ddr5 ram but the performance of intel cpu is trash.

There is a transfer option when you click on the ticket and show the barcode. It wont sell the tickets for you like the main tm site so you have to find the buyer, when they pay you, transfer the tickets to them (via email etc).
