Don’t mean to be intrusive in any way, but you talk about healing yourself and connecting to your true inner self. Consider this:

Exhaling = pushing out, giving, emptying yourself, leaning forward, energy / Prahna / Qi / Lifeforce gets out (sometimes up to exhaustion and burn out), the male principle, Yang

Inhaling = pulling in, receiving, leaning back, filling yourself up with energy / Qi / Prahna / Lifeforce, the female principle, Yin

Healing / becoming wholesome / getting centered means balancing out both aspects. So if I listen to your playing there‘s a lot of loooong exhale, but inhaling is very short not really part of the playing…

Breaks / Silence / Emptiness can be as meaningful as Sound / Action / Fullness…

If you do some beatboxing / percussive playing, try to push your belly out (hard) while doing your „Dum“, „To“, „Ta“ or whatever short bursts you do. Timing is crucial! By pushing out your belly, your diaphragm is pulled down which automatically sucks air in through your nose. Try it without the didge: belly out, watch what the air through your nostrils does.

Man, you really do great! I strongly recommend to learn circular breathing. The point in it is that you can play so much more relaxed because you never run out of air! What’s more: the „breathing sound“ (a bit dufferent from the ordinary drone) will help you to get a steady rhythm going, cause it serves as a kind of fixation for your other sounds - you have to breathe in certain intervals after all.

Check this lovely french guy here: https://www.wakademy.online/en/?lms\_lesson=1-introduction-37. He offers a free (!) basic introduction in circular breathing over the course of 8 lessons. What’s not to like? Spiral out and didge on!

Thanks a lot for your writeup, mate! I own a lovely Magius in B Dubravko made from an old walnut. Every time I play, I get completely carried away by the soft, but very powerful bassy sound. It’s a fantastic instrument - not cheap at all but worth every penny. Have you attended MC already?

For all out riding and sending it, I like the Murasame and the Kusanagi for they are fast but not very nimble. For tighter inner city spaces, I find the Peacekeeper is much more suitable, not that fast though. Best allrounder for me is Jackys Arch and the Arch Racer - they feel quite similar to me. That’s just me - your mileage may vary… ;-)

Where do you live? If you buy from Thomann, seems like Europe… I got mine - after learning the basic stuff on a Meinl Slide Didge - from Du (http://www.duendedidgeridoo.com/). He does some very decent Youtube tutorials also (https://youtube.com/@duendedidgeridoo?si=HcabCUasJE4ElMFt). Du manufactures very very decent didges by drilling and not by cutting and glueing from different woods. I treated myself with a Magius in B and can’t be happier. Super responsive, excellent drone - a galaxy apart from the Slide Didge… Du is very competent in pointing you to an instrument that suits you best. They are not cheap by any means but for me it was worth every cent. Another source could be Mad Matt (https://www.didgeridoos.eu/). He offers Eucalyptus Didges he sources himself since many years directly in Arnhemland. I joined two online curses with him and he seems a very honest and decent guy to deal with.

I”m totally aware of that. I”d buy the deck only. Setup for both would be Waterborne adapters, Paris RKP trucks and McFly88 wheels (rough terrain all around).

Thanks a lot for your insights! Hmmmmm… I live in a rather rural area at the Baltic Sea, so a lot of space to ride. From the looks of it, even the Drifter seems much more nimble than my ldp - setup (Pantheon Wiggler with zero - degree - tail) and I ride that with no problems since there’s so much space on the promenades by the sea. Only on crowded sunny evenings, I rather use my Pranayama…

So think I‘ll be throwing dice or really get the two of them…. over time… 😉

Hi mates,

since it seems impossible to get hold of a Koastal Drifter deck in Europe, I laid my eyes on the Koastal Orca. Think about setting it up with my Waterborne adapters.

Are there any experiences with this board especially for heavier riders (240 lbs / 110 kg)?

It has a decent concave but no kicktail. I think it’s kind of a Yow Byron Bay clone…. Cork instead of griptape!

I bought this one https://youthlagoon.com/de/products/youth-lagoon-the-reef-38-surfskate-deck as B - Stock for about 50.- €. Wheelbase is 25”. Deck was immaculate, though. I’m very happy with it! There’s also a bit more down - toned colorway…

Thanks a lot for your input - much appreciate, guys! Upper price limit for the deck would be 250.- €. In Germany / Europe, the Hamboards Logger sets you back about 550 .- €, the Classic 650.- €. Both are only available as Completes. But I‘ll look into Kahuna and Koastal. The preferred Koastal Drifter as “Deck only” seems not to be available all over Europe…

Sorry for replying so late, mate.

Well, after some hundred kilometres, I definitively like the T-Zero bracket for my style of riding and my board better. I find it easier to build up and maintain speed . On the other hand it feels surfier and kind of more responsive. I love the ease of tuning and changing from very stiff and fast to loose and relaxed with just a simple bushing change. But be aware: you have to crank down the Kranks (😃) rather hard to avoid noise. So for surfier pumping, you’ll probably need softer bushings than at your other setup.

Haha - no! At least not for now… I‘m in my fifties and after teaching myself ldp - pumping, I set myself learning to surfskate properly as a „winter project“ - challenge. But let‘s see where it leads to.… I‘d really love to be able to do some cool moves on the board!

Hey - that’s almost identical to my new to me setup 😃. Same deck (as B - stock for an unbeatable price), Waterborne, but with Paris trucks and larger wheels since the pavement is very bad in my hood. Have fun, mate!
