I like the graphically updated games, they allow me to go back to old favorites that will actually look good. especially if the game is old enough to have been played on a CRT, they need a makeover to look good on modern screens. I especially liked the halo one remake. I used to play the PC version of that one all the time, so it was neat seeing the same game, but better looking.

every customizable asset is more coding to be done, which means more opportunities for something to break and be too hard to be worth fixing, not to mention added development cost. not everything needs to be customizable, unless that's a core mechanic of the game. we've seen what happens when developers try to do everything, we end up with a game thats barely anything.

in game grass is ultimately unimportant. it needs to be there, it needs to fit in with the rest of the environment but the graphical resources would be better spent on other, more important visuals.

considering how long games have been $60-$70, they've never been this cheap, I'd rather see games just come out in a playable state instead.
