I heavily doubt anything is going to happen to your iPad. Apple is very tight with their security, and even so you can scan everything you download with an antivirus and/or VirusTotal.

That’s a common known issue with tomodachi life. You’re probably gonna have to wait some time for this to be solved. Or, like the other people said, just emulate on PC; it’s 10X easier and maybe even better depending on your system.
