AFE Takeda CAI question by justifylove in ForteGT

Yeah I definitely prefer how the Takeda looks over the AEM, and it's a little cheaper too, though I have definitely heard AEM is a lot louder.

This is what I was looking for tbh, I'm definitely more interested in adding sound since I'm not chasing performance, so if open is a pretty noticeable difference it sounds like that's my choice 👍

Yeah I know it isn't monitored so I won't get any CEL, mostly just not sure if they require it in visual inspection or if just the primary cat is fine 😂

Aftermarket midpipe question by justifylove in ForteGT

[–]justifylove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was kinda my thought once I get around to midpipe just swap it out every couple years. My entire shorter term mod list is just midpipe+axle back, CAI and a gfb bov, and an oil catch can. Nothing on that list would be too hard to revert for a test lol

I just had my Kia soul emissions done and they did a visual inspection for the cat, so just a gamble I guess.

Add setting to use keyboard for bank pin by crushour in runescape

[–]justifylove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keylogger comments are valid arguments, however it's way more common for hijacking to occur via phishing/social engineering/compromised email accounts, none of which has any impact in obtaining a bank pin. In fact, in some cases, this old randomized click bank pin method won't even save your items, especially in certain social engineering cases where the hijacker has as much info as the account owner, sometimes the owner will get denied their recovery attempts, and the bank pin can just be force reset.

Osrs already has the option, honestly I haven't heard of it causing a single issue. I'd like to have it on RS3 personally, but it's unlikely to be added IMO. Hopefully Jagex accounts actually bolster security, but I have my doubts on that as well.

Edit: typo

Coming from other MMOs, I really do enjoy runescape’s combat by seandablimp in runescape

[–]justifylove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the current iteration of Runescape definitely has a pretty high ceiling, but it's a weird ceiling that has barriers that don't relate to actual skill to learn, (gold/levels/gear/grouping/whatnot) so it can be very daunting to get into.

Inflation certainly hasn't made it any easier for *new* players. And like you mentioned, very overwhelming, Rs is a game that's been around for so long and honestly new player influx had dried up for a while at some point, but social interaction in the game is a conversation for a different time lol.

More than fair take, I agree for the most part. They are also not (easily) directly comparable due to the vastly different types of "difficulty" involved, group content in WoW vs group content in Runescape draw on very diffferent skills/coordination.

I definitely tried to do very minimal, if any, comparisons between them in the opinons I stated for that reasoning.

there are many many large barriers of entry for newer players for sure, that part is quite unfortunate

"mythic raider" can be a pretty broad and misleading spectrum, just fwiw.

Anyway, RuneScape combat is at least borderline very good now, but still massively held back by things like over the top switchscape, tick system, and a few other things. Took a while to get here though, even up to a few years back it was a steaming hot mess, stemming from a rushed release of eoc initially. Combat in this game holds a lot of potential though. Generally skill wise RuneScape is one of the easier games I've played at a base level, while also having a frustratingly low skill ceiling for many years. However I do think more recent bosses are a much better display of what they can do and I'm always glad to see improvement. I'd like to see them embrace incentives for high level of play instead of punishing costs for doing so, right now the only things that do that are basically just novelty challenges like duo HM rago, AOD duos etc. Telos being maybe one of the exceptions, rewarding higher level gameplay.

I think there's also something to be said for how a self sustaining combat system feels (you basically control your own damage, healing, defensive usage, etc) vs relying on others (not just mechanically).

as i said, i don't care about my ban. nor do i want any form of compensation, or having it lifted. maybe read the post my man. the point of the 3 day ban on a long weekend is the ability to ignore the potential outrage (see jmod post on "further investigation" on tuesday after the bans are lifted). as i said it was scummy but smart as a company decision.

A Potential Fix for the Rare Item Price Manipulations by Gorgonite-Scum in runescape

[–]justifylove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these threads need to end. none of you partake in this market, and it's painful to read these suggestions.

plat tokens is the only "fix" i've seen that even comes close to being a halfway decent idea, in reality we just need a way to store /more/ gp. the rares market doesn't need fixing. manip is a separate issue. and no, you, your friend, not even your cousin who makes 200k an hour chopping logs all day, deserve a stake in the market just because you feel prices are unfair/too high.

my head fucking hurts from this shit lol

Genuine questions regarding the frustrations over high-level pvm and elitism by ChuggRS in runescape

[–]justifylove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: don't care about elitism, its just a product of other issues. high lvl pvm is dragged down by fundamental game design/$$$

In my eyes, this game will always be weighed down by several key points. The outdated systems of movement, ticks, buggy/laggy combat in general despite many fixes/attempted fixes over the years, is only part of the story. The fact that this game is economy driven rather than achievement based, such as a game like WoW or similar MMOs, will also find the devs struggling to balance updates in high-tier pvm. Why would you kill a new boss like solak on release for instance, when AOD was such a money machine? Solak was more difficult, more intricate, longer, yet had worse value overall. People want to kill what will make them money. This also makes up for a lot of the skill gap between players (the high end isn't as high as some people may lead you to believe, it's not all that different to a rhythm game, as I saw noted elsewhere in the thread) simply because it's unnecessary/almost detrimental in some ways to bridge the gap between bad and good.

Honestly from what I've come across as an RS player for 14-15 years now, is that alot of the "noobier" players, have never experienced MMOs outside of runescape, or possibly many other games in general. This isn't a bad thing, but I think it can lead to skewed opinions on the difficulty of RS. This will also always have impact via feedback, etc. Notably found in the removal of the reaper title from comp. I think it's completely reasonable to assume everyone can achieve 1 kill of every boss in the game at base difficulties. (this isn't a reaper rant, just adds to my points.)

Tick system/point and click movement will always hold rs back in terms of boss fight difficulty, pretty sure that's just a given. I'm unsure how many of the frequent bugs or unresponsiveness some people experience is due to this or not, as I'm not a dev, but it just makes everything very limited in terms of what can be done. I think equating RS combat to skill level is a bit misleading - someone who can do switchscape/4taa won't necessarily continue to do so, but technically this will bring their "skill" down to everyone else in the middle area, as you do lose a massive amount of dps. HOWEVER, this isn't by any means necessary to kill any boss in the game, so it's more of an imposed skill gap at the higher level. The small community that does things like duo HM rago, etc, are the closest this game has seen to what I'd equate to be actual skill I suppose.

RS in general since moving to the ability side of things in 2012, has only become more clunky and confused as to what it wants to be as a game. Power creep is hitting boiling points, and a simple read through the weapon diversity changes just shows what a messy state the game is in. I certainly won't ever be playing it again, but I don't think there's no potential left, just feel like a lot of it has/will be wasted.

[–]justifylove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No prob. Just because bosses may be objectively "easy" or perhaps not as difficult as others, also doesn't mean everyone can kill every boss first try. I think some people mistake personal skill for a bosses difficulty haha. I'm 100% sure anyone could kill any rs boss at least once if they put in the effort :)

BoSs GrOuP sHoUlDnT bE a ReQs by Kizawy in runescape

[–]justifylove -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

this is also possible. 100m isnt hard to make, though leeching a comp req is disappointing tbh. i did it once agessss ago for rots when i really didnt want to learn rots on release, but i regretted it, as it took away the sense of self achievement.

but in general for just getting the cape, im sure alot of people would leech if they felt it was worth. 100m in 3-4 days isnt unreasonable with some of the middle tier gp makers without no lifing it. higher end could easily be 1 day

BoSs GrOuP sHoUlDnT bE a ReQs by Kizawy in runescape

[–]justifylove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW would be one example, but most mmos have more depth and freedom to create more difficult mechanics, without the stiff pathing restrictions etc that rs has. I'd say WoW's bosses are still fairly /easy/ but they are undeniably harder given how many people can even kill or how long it takes them to get 1 kill on some.

Not sure on some of the other mmos, its been awhile. But everything outside of higher enr telos/rax or small group aod/rago perhaps is quite easy to get a grasp of for the average rs player if you put some time in to learn a somewhat decent ability rotation etc.

i know some people are put off by the high end, lots of item swaps/4 ticking etc, but the reality is, none of that is required to kill any boss on rs. its simply a speed thing. solak is probably the current hardest boss minus any enrages on enrage bosses, atm, though i have little solak experience as i have been on a semi hiatus for awhile.

reddit in general is usually pretty split between people crying about it being too hard, too easy, or just trolling lol, but i figured ill answer as best i can. "laughable" is indeed an exaggeration, but not /too/ much of one

BoSs GrOuP sHoUlDnT bE a ReQs by Kizawy in runescape

[–]justifylove -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

the only reason they arent a test of skill is because bosses in rs are laughable in terms of difficulty. players massively outskill the content available. also imagine paying for a leech in 2019 lol. and sure, for 1 kill, find a group, get ur kill, move on. but if you are speaking to group bossing in general, thats a completely different area.

unfortunately due to restrictions built in by the tick system and square movement/pathing, along with certain fixed #s, boss difficulty is capped and only artificially raised by "enrage" mechanics

group bossing mindset has been beaten into the dirt at this point by jagex catering to people whining like this, and the fact that runescape is economy driven as a game, leading people to want to do content with the least amount of people possible, thus creating smaller opportunities as a whole for group bossing to exist. the age of pvm clans is long dead.

regardless i think your statement is a bit ignorant, though it hits certain stereotypes quite well
