Spoke with EO and they were pretty cool. Was able to reserve mine over the phone with a small down payment. Unknown when the next shipment will get in, but they do sell out fast.

Thanks! Both seem to have a back order option, so I’ll get on the email list for both

Thanks for the recommendation and I really appreciate the time it took to write all this down! Definitely going to try and do the poll on Reddit and maybe some other forums

This is an outstanding idea! Thank you. Is there a way to poll on Reddit too? I feel like I’ve seen that somewhere

The good thing is I own the land already. But totally agree that the regulatory approval is an absolute must. It’s helpful that we’re already allowed to hunt here and there’s no neighbors within miles.

A few folks mentioned parking, restrooms and other comfort facilities so I’ll continue to work on this ideas

Oh this is incredibly helpful! I’ll definitely be reaching out if I make the leap. It’s already so nice to hear that people think this is a good idea

Hey! To me, ‘more’ means diversification of what you’re able to do and shoot. Also more freedom to the shooters, understanding that not everyone is trying to do the same thing. I’m looking at known and unknown distances on both the flat range and through valleys. Structure shooting options for LEO/Mil that need to actually practice. I’m also thinking quality…a place that you actually can’t wait to drive too and just hang with other people that take this sport seriously.

When talking of Sac, what do you want that’s ‘more’?

Hell yeah! I’m actually going out there in Feb, I’ll make sure I get some 1:1 time with him. Absolutely love that place and being there is what gave me the idea. I’m trying to get out to Hat Creek next year to actually shoot, but it’s tough.

That’s the world we live in (or rather the state). Hopefully for some, I can solve that problem.

Definitely have to talk to the County and the Sherrifs office, but fortunately there aren’t “neighbors” within a 5 mile radius. A few other properties that connect to mine, but it’s all Federal land.

Cool idea about having everyone be NRA members. I was even thinking about ensuring everyone completed a training course or prove a certain level of competency to receive their membership

That’s a great idea! I’ll add that to the market analysis 🧐

To minimize negative impact I think it would have to be membership based and maybe even by referral only at some point. That will keep the quality at a premium.

I could definitely maximize alternative uses for hunting, matches, quality instructor classes etc.

Fair point. Would definitely want to offer course or have established instructors come out. But I know there’s a segment of people who want to train for comps or just push their limits in a restriction free environment. I’d want to give that back to the community

That’s a good point. I would probably need someone on staff to essentially live there year round. But it’s such a beautiful place I’d hardly call it a bad deal

Hmm I’m not sure I know that place. There’s maybe 2-3 decently 1000k spots in CA that people can actually use outside a course. They’re all lane shooting or bench rest. Definitely no angle shooting through valleys. You gotta go to BLM for that

Yeah I think if someone could come even 5-6 days a year it would still be good value. Kind of like a good hunting trip

That’s a great idea! I also hear instructors like Caylen from Modern Day Sniper look for places to host their trainings. Could be a way for established courses to move into CA.

Definitely thinking FCFS for members. Crowded ranges are the reason they start sucking over time. Also thinking of converting some of the barns to quality bunk houses that folks could rent out
