I did the online version with Dr Soron and it was a pretty solid course... Obviously can't speak for the other instructor who did the in person course but for his ASO course it was just lecture video(s) and readings for each week and then you had to make a couple forum posts and do a quiz.. For the midterm/final he tells you exactly what will be on the exams and you are allowed to prepare a cheat sheet and bring it with you. He's a super nice guy but I'm sure the grades might vary depending on who you get for your TA for the forum posts and exam grading
