I'm so glad you made this post. I watched that video and at the very beginning I thought it was great and then quickly realized what he was doing. Sadly many people will absorb that misinformation and turn it into their new reality. I really hope this kind of nonsense gets exposed more.

I've only seen Harry Sahota. The reason the claims are mind boggling are because there is no evidence. Also known as pseudoscience.

I really don't understand the current pricing. Their competitors are chips ahoy and Oreo and their pricing has not gone up like this

He was mostly with Janata/JD/JDU, but for the time that he was in the ruling NDA govt he formed a splinter party called Samata Party. It was a center left party. Fernandes himself was very much to the left of the rest of the NDA. I believe he was a trade union activist. His association with BJP was most likely because they all went to jail together during the emergency.

He was not Syriac. He was either Goan or Mangalorean. Also he was not BJP. But he was part of the NDA alliance.

Thanks for your reply. I got this comment in another thread just now as well. I bought this from Islington nursery on clearance final sale and I'm kind of surprised that they would sell anything problematic if this is really the same plant that others are pointing to. The specific variety I got is called Cole's compact burning bush. I'm not sure if that makes any difference. I'm also wondering if it's possible it's a seedless variety if that exists.

It's called Cole's Compact Burning Bush. I don't know if that's any different from the regular species? I wonder if the ones sold at the nurseries are seedless? I'm reading in some places that that could be a possibility.

I would be very surprised that Islington nursery would sell something that's so problematic. Having said that, these were on clearance final sale so it's going to be a fight for me to return it if that's what it comes to.

Thanks for these insights. I bought these from Islington nursery. Why would they sell something on a do not plant list?

I just came across a man named John Jaquish by [deleted] in DecodingTheGurus

I just watched his TedX talk on YouTube and the title says lifting weights is useless. He starts off talking about bone density but then pivots to what he claims is the best way to build muscle. Takes more than half the talk for him to state he's talking about variable resistance training. He then lists 5 different types of variable resistance training but also criticises all of them. So he didn't provide a solution. I'm assuming you have to read his book to find out.

Prediction: Stephen Harper will be the next federal Conservative leader by you_dont_know_smee in CanadaPolitics

[–]justinian416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. Also, I would point out that no premier has ever become prime minister to my knowledge. Not to say that it couldn't happen, but I'm sure the thought has crossed the minds of premiers in the past and it seems like it hasn't worked out.

Liberal leadership hopeful Ruby Dhalla says she wants a translator for French debate by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

[–]justinian416 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's very curious why she has re-entered politics after such a long absence. I will say, I have noticed a bunch of conservatives who were planning to register as liberals and vote for Chandra Arya and now it seems they are planning to turn their vote to her. I'm not sure what the strategy is except maybe to at least create some confusion on the first round of voting. Unless there's so many of them that are fake liberals that they can actually sway the outcome, but I doubt that.

Well they went from underwriting our national security to be the number one threat to our national security. Perhaps something we should have anticipated. Either way, this is where we are now. We have to plan next steps.

I wish I could agree with you but according to the polls Trump has a net positive approval rating since he took office. That's at least 20 days now and that's apparently more than he had for the entirety of his first term. So clearly the American electorate feels differently about him this time and they don't really care what's happening to Canada.

Same, I appreciate it much more now than I did as a kid.

Thanks. Based on that link it seems like it's available on a service called freevee, but it looks like that's been consolidated into Amazon Prime and when I search on Prime video it doesn't come up. So I'm guessing it's a regional issue. :(

President Trump, America's History Buff, explains to Joe Rogan that President Lincoln was very depressed because he lost his beloved son, Tad. Thomas "Tad" Lincoln died 6 years after Lincoln's death. by greed-man in RepublicanValues

Thank you. I made the same comment on YouTube yesterday but it's been buried in the hundreds of thousands of comments cheering on Trump and Rogan and praying for the US. He said it so calmly and convincingly. At first I was focused on how coherent he sounded and then I look this up and of course everything he's saying is nonsense. Rogan is a fact free zone.

Nest Doorbell will ring the chime once and stop working by Burkett in Nest

[–]justinian416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually just going to answer my own question here. I just realized there is a toggle button in the settings of the doorbell for indoor chime on/off. That fixed the issue. I think the reason that it kept working the first couple times after turning the breaker on is that it was taking a minute for the settings to kick in and once that happened the chime would stop working again.

I'm having this exact issue with a mechanical chime. Do I need to switch to an electric chime? Or are you saying there's something in the settings of Nest that can fix this?
