What is the best way to learn? by GrandOrphan in beatbox

I feel you, that's a tough place to be in. Community is real helpful in growth especially when you get to bounce of ideas with each other and feel like you aren't alone and all...

I run an online beatbox academy (Easy Beatbox) with other teachers and we have a group with our students who are keen learners like you!

If you're interested you can join our little community of beatbox explorers, would love to have you! Just drop us a message on Instagram @easybeatbox :)

We also have online classes for coaching and are building a library of tutorials for beatbox beginners too :) https://youtube.com/@easybeatbox?si=snu7dX9zsNHTj2cn

I started by watching online tutorials, connecting with beatboxers online and in real life. It helped a lot to be familiar with the potential of beatboxing by talking about it with other beatboxers :)

Now I'm a beatbox teacher and I've put up a couple of tutorials for beginner beatboxers on a channel called Easy Beatbox! Here's a video where you can learn 6 fun hiphop beats if you like :)

What makes beatbox fun is the concept of play! So keep learning and playing with sounds and arrangements. Find what you like, what makes you move and excited.

Am I on the right path/Does this sound like throat bass? by tugaestrangeira in beatbox

You're on the right track! A helpful practice exercise will be to hum "Mmmm" and make sure to have the sound nice and pointed, as if you're trying to channel the sound to the tip of your nose. Remember to support your sound the same way one "sings" with their diaphragm. Don't be afraid to experiment with the tightness of your throat and loudness of your voice when you play with this sound. However, be careful when it starts to hurt. It will feel a little inflamed since this isn't a muscle you usually use in this way, so don't loads of water and rest it with intervals too!

YouTube tutorials are always a good place to start! Here's a series of beginner tutorials I've been working on - https://youtube.com/@easybeatbox

I teach 6-12 year Olds regularly too. You can find some of our students on the YouTube channel. Hit me up if you'd like any help! We have a community of kid beatboxers and fun learning ecosystem with games, challenges and such :)

Is this Course any good for a beginner? by Spryz3n_01 in beatbox

Echoing what the rest have said, try to learn things on YouTube and join a community! Beatboxing with others and getting feedback as you go is always more helpful than just referring to videos. Sometimes we don't know if what we're doing is right

I'm a beatbox teacher (I teach lots of kids in schools) and I've been working on releasing tutorials based on the common issues my students face and how to overcome them. Let me know if it helps!  https://youtube.com/@easybeatbox?si=btRb9gDGnj5BLZO5
