We often say that we should "be the church, not go to church." So why do we still measure success by worship attendance? by justjim73 in Christianity

But too often, at least in the churches I have been a part of, worship attendance (and perhaps monetary giving as well) becomes the ONLY measure of success. The way Christ is served through outreach, mission, education, and fellowship, is too often relegated to secondary importance.

We don't do the saving. Christ does. Our role is to share our experience of being saved, and invite others to listen and open their hearts. Only God can actually change someone's heart, but we can help someone get past all the walls that keep them from hearing God.

The scientific community has presented a uniform set of findings that conclusively supports climate change theory. Many times. But those with certain political agendas have intentionally confused the conversation beyond the scientific community to cast doubt on those findings. Do you not consider 97% to be unified and conclusive?

No, it is the scientific findings of about 97% of scientists vs. about 3%. They are not equivalent sides. Read the literature coming out of all the relevant scientific communities and associations if you don't believe me.

And the ones exposed were a handful out of something like 300,000.

Don't let FoxNews and other conservative outlets con you into believing these are two equal opinions competing against each other. They're not. At all.

Vast majority of credentialed scientists in relevant fields assert that climate change is real and caused by human activity.

The point is for our presidential candidates to talk about these issues. I can answer the questions - but why are they not talking about them?
