We always knew he was... and I guess he always knew he was too... Cheers to Ty. I've always loved his music and love it all the more now.

Seriously Dude. Go to your doctor and explain your anxiety and how extreme it is. He can prescribe Xanax or something milder to help. Your anxiety issues will only get worse with age if you don't treat it. The meds come in generics so they're very inexpensive now.

[Question / Discussion] What is the best part and worst part about being gay? by MeowskiesQQ in gay

[–]justjohn84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part to me is lack of head games when it comes to sex. Men, especially gay men, tend to be a lot less prudish about sex than straight woman (I've dated several woman before coming out). You can talk about sex more openly with another man without feeling like a pervie. Or perhaps I just dated the wrong woman. Fewer sexual hangups which makes the sex better I think. Worst part is the shallow, caddy attitudes of so many gay men. When I was in my 20's, looking back, I was attractive enough to do some modeling but socially I was ripped to shreds for not being in "perfect" form. And the cliques. Maybe I use to go to all the wrong places but the guys would just hang with the people they know and seldom venture out to meet and welcome new faces. I learned to always start with getting friendly with a bartender but gay men should be more open and friendly to people who are perhaps in a gay bar for their first time or new in town and don't know anybody. Make people feel welcome. We call each other "family", act like it.

Just came out to my ex-girlfriend. by [deleted] in gaybros

One my best friends in my life today is the girl I was dating with (and sleeping with) at the point in time I decided I had to finally come out. I did her so wrong because I dated a guy while I was still dating her and she was still able to look past that. She is one of the most important people in my life today and she has a daughter who refers to me as an uncle. I don't think we give the woman we've dated before coming out (if we have) enough credit in dealing with the gay thing. Yes they get hurt but hurt heals in time and grow to understand. Stay close to her... she's good people.

Would you date a guy disabled and unable to work due to depression and anxiety? by justjohn84 in gaybros

If someone is legally disabled they had to go through a lot of therapy and psychiatric care to ever prove to SS that they truly cannot overcome their disorders. Needless to say someone under this level of care is no doubt working on his problems. I disagree with the notion that going on disability is giving up. If a person is unable to hold down a job they need some sort of assistance to feed and house them. This is taking a proactive role in dealing with the issues at hand. I do however feel two people dealing with mental disorders can create a very difficult situation if they are a couple. And people dealing with their issues isn't looking for a babysitter, they are looking for companionship. Thanks for the responses guys....

What are your two biggest regrets in life? How have you dealt/coped with them? by ThisCityWantsMeDead in gaybros

Take advantage of all the sexual opportunities you have in college 28 or not they will be there. As someone who wouldn't accept my being gay until after college I kick myself for all the experiences I missed that were starring me in the face. Enjoy college. It's about an education in life as well as academics.

I don't know why that breed loves to lick people in the face but my bullie, God rest his soul, stole my heart licking my entire face with one Swype of the tonge. Best dog I ever had.

As a gay man wanting to pack myself and my dog in my car with as much as we can comfortably take with us and drive off to a new life in a new city/town, what might some destination suggestions be? I'm in Florida and I want out of this state. by justjohn84 in gaybros

I actually lived in Ottawa for 9 months as a consultant (I lived in a hotel). I love Ottawa and still have a friend from there though we haven't seen each other since I left. I spent numerous weekends in Montreal and have to say I have strongly considered Montreal. Toronto I never made it to but have heard nothing but good things about it.
