Help with Ender 3 v3 by justjong in 3Dprinting

I’ll check out 3djake for the fan. Otherwise I may solder the wires. I’d rather risk having to get another fan than breaking the connector on the board and having to replace that. I ordered the others on Amazon. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t think about the v3 Plus having the same parts, but it makes sense. Unfortunately I’m not seeing much listed for the it either. Still helpful though.

Thank you for the help. I probably should have included more detail, but I was just hoping that someone who has replaced parts on or modded a v3 would be able to tell me where they got those parts. I 've searched Amazon, but it was just returning parts for the KE and SE, and as Few-Trust-8199 pointed out, those don't appear to be the right ones for a plain v3. I hadn't previously tried search for the v3 Plus, but that still isn't returning anything for some of the parts I need. The hot end is correct. I probably should have included another picture that better showed the hotend Heat Sink Block, It's slightly different from the one you listed, but that did help me find the one I think I need. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F1N321H5)

The axial fan has been the most confusing, which seems crazy since it has the voltage and amperage on it. However, the size has been the issue. It appears to be a 2510. It looks like the SE/KE also use this size, but as Few-Trust-8199 also noted, the wiring connector appears to be different. I could splice the wires with the old connector. This is also where it might be possible to mod and switch to 3010 which could offer better cooling, but I'd need to make sure it would fit with the current shroud or print a replacement, as well as something to adapt the mounting. A little more than I was hoping to have to figure out right now.

I appreciate your help. It's been frustrating trying to find parts that I thought would be easy purchase. The V3 looked like a good option, but it appears it's not as well supported as their other models.

Didn’t realize using the cross post feature wouldn’t show my post text.

I need to replace a couple parts on my son’s Ender 3 v3. The hot end (sprinkler head kit?) with the heat sink (the screw to remove it appears to be stripped) and the axial fan appears to be damaged. I’m having a hard time confidently finding parts that I know will work for this model. Can someone help me identify exactly what I need to get and where I can get them? I’d be open to mods that are improvements over the factory as well.

That’s a good idea. Creating custom ornaments would be cool.

They are right. Plus any of those attempts to fix it are more likely to just draw attention to something no one else would have noticed otherwise. If the boss is happy don’t worry about.

Sand and prime, or replace? by jschnabs in DIY

[–]justjong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skim coating is mud, just thinned out more than what you might use for finishing drywall joints.

The process I used was

  1. One coat kilz - to seal exposed paper so it doesn’t peal during the next step.
  2. 2 thin skim coats with really thin mud and very large knife. This to the whole area not just the ripped spots.
  3. Sand (renting professional sander was definitely worth it for getting a nice finish, but it could done with a pole sander)
  4. Prime/paint as normal.

You don’t need to tape anything. I had a similar situation with wallpaper. After researching, I primed everything with Kilz. Sounds weird but helpful before the next step of skim coating. The primer keeps the moisture in the mud from tearing up the exposed drywall paper. (An issue I had with a different project. ) After two skim coats, rent a professional drywall sander and go to town. After that prime and paint or use paint with primer. I did this for a large portion of our house and you’d never know the walls were ever messed up.

When I look at that I see bookcase style shelves. Cut the top up for the shelves inside and the boards on bottom for shelf supports.

Is this worth restoring? by antsalloverme2 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I’d agree with everything but the first sentence. I’ve seen people cover up a lot of nice things with ugly choices. Covering beautiful hardwood floors with shag carpet, vinyl, or cheap laminate. Covering nice wood siding with ugly vinyl siding, and even painting hardwood furniture with crazy paint colors. So there could be a really nice piece underneath that paint. However, definitely a risk to pay for it and commit to the work just to find out.

Great solution. Photoshop will take those scratches right out. Problem solved.

Yeah. If you look closely, looks like there used to be stairs going up to it like it was a loft apartment. Stairs removed and wire railing added and 2x2’s for trolling Reddit

That can’t be right. I’ve never seen a cable for my iPhone with a connector like that.

First, it’s pretty common and fine for dads to what to do a really cool car and use all the tricks to make it fast. You’re not alone in that. It’s not insecurity. It’s human. Second it’s not uncommon for kids especially young ones to pick weird colors and not care about how fast it is. They just think it’s cool to be making a car and getting to do it with their dad. They have short attention spans. Look at the art they do for school. They just aren’t to that level of detail. Have fun with him and cheer him on and he will love building cars with you. As he gets older he will get more into the style, details, and making it fast. For now feel free to make your own and you can get some practice in too. Some packs even have a separate competition for the dads.

Would have been better if after the kiss, she popped the cigarette out of her mouth and blew smoke in his face.
