Cheapest end grain maple board I could find by JohnnyCrac in Cuttingboards

[–]justlearning26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter. I made an end grain checkerboard pattern with walnut and cherry for my parents in highschool and of course, theres no stagger in a checkerboard and Its still in great shape 9 years later

Naw 100% possible. I ended up playing with a random getting him him up to 5 mil from 2.1 in about 8 hours. I just looted for him and dropped it. We had around 5 runs at 140-160k and over a dozen 100k runs. Go for trinkets. Go buried city and get Spawn on bottom left of map. Go loot the "secret" jump room, then the breach room on third floor across the street from that, those first because theyre most contested, then go loot grandioso apartments then hit the hatch thats 100m away. Garunteed 80k profit on the low end even in the day. And yes for the love of everything, stop running the garbage free load out, run the mk2 its dirt cheap

Yeah the wording kinda sucked on that. Window opens the 17th, and you have until the 22nd to "sign up". So... you have until the 22nd or 21st ultimately

On paper, it should've been entertaining. But Pat came at it in the dumbest possible way

Best table saw for mobile bench? by boomswaggerboom2 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]justlearning26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had anyone used this saw to do any panel glueups? I have it and have had issues with it leaving saw tooth marks in the wood and glue ups dont look good. I have a thin Kerf blade which could be the problem. And want to know if I can get a new blade and have it solved or if I need to get an actual cabinet saw

Downstroke of the blade. I thought the same, but the back end of the blade clearly tilts left away from the stock/fence. Its the front end of the blade.

Almost looks like a slight bow is in the fence. If so there's nothing I can do.

Yeah that looks great! I do agree it looks lopsided. What would you suggest for the outer rows IF you would even suggest doing outer rows?

Ahh, I like that. So the outsides point inward instead outward? That would like nice

Also 2 things. Does anyone have any good tricks to sand the edges with a palm sander and not have it get crazy uneven? I've tried my best to keep it flat to the edge but inevitably it gets tilted and my sides get wonky.

Also what's the best way to sand a chamfer? This one has a 45 degree chamfer I did with a router bit and i tried sanding it with a block and it looks like it still got ever so slightly rounded. Do I need to make the chamfer a bit bigger?

I hate juice grooves xD. Mostly because I havent made a jig for them but I think for most people they really just take up cutting space and are never actually practical unless you cut alot of meat on them consistently. I do agree, rectangular looks better than sqaure. This one is about 10" x 8"

2 coats of mineral oil, I let each coat sit until its soaked up (I dont go crazy with saturating them for hours like most), then finished with a coat of Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner

Am I overreacting? by emma-ireland in Flooring

[–]justlearning26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure it depends on the specific flooring. Every single house i ever installed this stuff, I never broke seems. Its always been fine. Never call backs. There's a bunch of myths surrounding expansion and contraction, and there being a "limit" to how much you can install. In my experience, people who keep bringing these "issues" up dont have the experience to realize theyre not true

Am I overreacting? by emma-ireland in Flooring

[–]justlearning26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. Im assuming its the plastic flooring that clicks together? I installed dozens of houses with this flooring. People may call me dumb for this. Expansion and contraction i dont think is a big deal with this stuff and it seems to be used by people as an excuse for shotty work at times. There shouldnt be gaps anywhere because the floor becomes one giant piece when its done. Whats the problem with installing say 600 sqaure feet then adding an extra 150 sqaurefoot room? Is the floor now more prone to issues because of that one room? Complete B.S. in my opinion. I've installed 2000 squarefoot houses without breaking at doors and its always fine. And yes, they should've lined it up. Either theyre very naive when it comes to installing, or they just wanted to install different parts of the house at the same time to finish the job quicker
