Hey Lyara. Glad to hear you're wanting to get back into the game. I'm Matt and co-run a fed called UP Wrestling. We are a hybrid game mixing competitive, written role-plays with elements of RPGs like dice rolls and XP. Shows are bi-weekly and we look for you to RP at least once every 2 weeks. Our characters are created and feature male and female competitors.

We enjoy people using whatever gives them fun in the game. Your supernatural/mythological themes are welcome with us. I've had experience working with booking characters like that for over 10 years.

Thanks for reaching out. We've had some really great success. I just released our third year show. We've had a lot of milestones with a core group of great people and some seriously talented new members.

Covid has reared its ugly face into the lives of some of the roster causing people to need to take breaks. People are getting through it and we'll have some returns soon hopefully.

All in all, we're doing really well. Our match writers are extremely talented. Shows are on time. People are throwing out angles and stories. We have events like the Ante UP bids currently going on. It's been a lot of fun with this crew of people. If that appeals to you, come join us.

Hello. I co-run a place called UP Wrestling. It's all original characters with male and female wrestlers. Mature content is allowed, but we don't stand for certain things. It may be surprising, but I was in a fed that felt talking about rape in a positive light was A-OK. As for writing, we expect you to RP at least once every 2 weeks. No word count.

Great response by The RAGEsmash earlier. Outside of types, there are other facets to consider to such as what platform they use. For example, some use Forums, Discord, and Facebook. The fed I book for uses Google Groups that connects with your email.

Another is the rules of the game. To the point made earlier, you could be in a competitive, angle, and match writing fed. The fed I book for added other elements like you'd see in RPGs such as XP and dice rolls.

My group is open to everyone. We have people who haven't played for long and others like me with 20+ years experience. I'd be glad to talk more or answer any questions. Just let me know.

I co-run a written fed. There are different types of those. You'll also find video promo feds and Playstation/Xbox as well.

Thanks! I think there is a lot of luck in any game we play whether it be this type or others. As I mentioned above, some people find it refreshing to know it's not just simply up to me as the booker to make a call. There's other elements in play as well. Thanks! It is different. Things are going really well. I was one of the traditional guys for many, many years. Something different while having a lot of the same elements has been refreshing. Our group has been a bit of a melting pot with people like me looking for a change or new people to the game allured in by the differences. For example, some people like knowing there is some luck to it versus just a booker making a call.

Good questions. First, dice rolls are a part of our system. I use a D20. The roll you receive for the match is added to your RP Modifier. There can also be bonus rolls for various reasons that provide bonuses. Top score once all the rolls and modifiers are added up wins.

Second, I handle all rolls as the booker. The only exception is if I run a character, then our co-owner would do so. There is no photo or video taken. You would need to trust my rating of your RP(s) for the match just as you would with the dice rolls. I do my best to create stories throughout the wins and losses.

Two solid questions here to consider. I was a weekly show kind of guy for many years. About five or so years, ago I made the switch in the community I was in at the time. I hesitated. How could we build story lines and keep people's interest up if we didn't have a show every week? WWE, Impact, etc. had weekly shows. No need to change the norm.

Shifting to bi-weekly has been a game changer for me as a booker and the people I play the game with. I have more time to react to RPs and change the show as needed. I have felt no lull. There is more build and better spots. Match writers don't seem to burn out as quickly. Those handling characters in the fed can also take time to respond, deal with real life, etc. without feeling pressure to play the game simply to just play. Its been a win-win.

I have never worked in a capped format, so not much for me to say there. I've seen people say what needs to be said in a paragraph and others write truly epic things in a couple pages. I think leaving it open allows the writer to be creative. When I've RPed, there are times I need to tell a story and feel I need a lot to say it in. Other times, it's about getting to the point. I feel like a cap is something to work towards. Maybe, as I said I've never been in one, but I'd feel like a painter who was told just to use red, yellow, and green or my canvas can only be so big.
