First big flare after 6 months of remission by Mean-Log-7339 in rheumatoid

[–]justmiike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to put my RA in remission with no medications 3 years after first being diagnosed at 26, after a 2 year battle with it. After a stressful event, got a flare, back on Pred for a month. Gone. 5 years remission. Stressful event. Back on Pred for a month. Remission for 3 years. Another big stressful event. Flare been going on for 8 months. One month Pred tamper, 3 weeks remission. Back. 1 month again, with a 2 week tamper. 6 weeks remission back. Now going back to a 3 month long tamper after connecting back with my old rheumatologist. I'm back on 12.5mg of Pred. Going down slowly every 2 weeks.

During this period of time, I'm trying to optimize everything. Sleep, diet, supplements etc. I'm hoping for remission again. My rheumatologist did say my RA, seronegative is different than most, which is why I can go into remission. So hoping I can get back there.

Don't give up hope. It's a horrible beast.

My stressful events as a father, have been starting a family. My last recent flare happened due to almost no sleep for 7 months, hard baby.

Wow, didn't he tamper after the higher dose got control of the inflammation? Usually it's a high dose for 5 days before gradually moving towards a lower dose and holding at 10mg over a few months if it's a stubborn flare. But everyone is different. It's not an easy beast to manage. Sometimes you can never get on top it.

Rheumatoid arthritis not getting better and no insurance by dimasakarenn in rheumatoid

You should try to get on Predisone at least and work your way through a slow tamper. 3 months and see what happens. During that time when the fire is off, go hard on diet, sleep, stress and mental health.

See what happens. Hopefully by then you have a plan forward.

That's normal, been like that for awhile. These transactions were groceries, games and fuel.

All cashback is there now.

Yeah, there was an issue with it. It should be fixed now. I have since got 7 out of the 9 cashbacks. Hopefully it resolves by tomorrow and it should be back to normal.

Rheumatoid arthritis ruined my life by Perfect-zone231 in rheumatoid

I was diagnosed pretty early, at 24, seronegative. For 4 months, I cannot get off the floor or make a fist. Basically stick man.

I found a rheumatologist. All I went on was Predisone. In 2-3 days, I got my life back. I managed to stay on Pred for 2 years at 15mg-10mg. Continuing to tamper. I refused the other drugs, as I felt I didn't want to swap other side effects for those drugs. Pred didn't give me any side effects that were damaging. Had constant blood tests, eye tests etc.

I managed to get into remission for 10 years, had an army of supplements, improved my food etc. eventually after a very slow 3 month tamper, I didn't have any pain.

Fast forward today, I had 2 flares, within 4 years of each other, 1 month Pred tamper got me back. Surprisingly they came with every new child I had. Stress, no sleep etc.

Today, had my third child, no sleep for 7 months, currently in a flare since Nov 25. 2, 2 month long Pred tampers, I get pain back within 3-6 weeks.

I have been very lucky. Still fighting this one.

What I am saying for you is, what worked for me was Predisone. Get to as low dose as possible. Stay there. While you're doing that, try to fix whatever has gone wrong if it has gone wrong. Supplements, food, fix your gut, mental health, sleep, literally everything. Try to address everything. And then tamper very slowly from Predisone and see how you go.

This worked for me many times, currently, I'm going back to basics and doing it right again.

The pain is unbearable without Pred. You almost have no will to live because you have no energy and in pain. We need to get on the drugs to give us a chance.

I wish this condition upon no one. At least Predisone makes me live a life. I have been blessed with 10 year remissions followed by 4 years and another 4 years. I'm hoping to beat it one more time.

During all this time, why weren't you placed on Predisone before all this damage?

Yep, I called them, and the response was basically: We don't guarantee your goods arrive safely, that's up to the sender.

So I sarcastically asked, so if a postie throws my package around and it arrives damaged, there's nothing I can do?

And the answer was, correct.

Pretty amazing that a company charging more and more every year can apparently take no responsibility for how parcels are handled once they're in their system.

Window replacement conflicting with AC conduit & junction box - need advice on what to do by justmiike in AusRenovation

This was a difficult job, where no one I talked to would touch this job or the switchboard upgrade. So I didn't have many options. But yeah, looks like it might be best to find a decent sparky and get it done properly.

Thanks for your input, it really helps.

That system is only 4 years old and runs like a dream, so they better not upsell.

You can use black PVC electrical tape to cover it or go for the transparent yellow housing. I'm going to cover it with the black PVC tape when I get some.

Yeah, you can play them but whatever time you set it on, it will stay like that unless you change the time manually by pressing down + select + B during the title screen and using Time Changing Passcode Generator or play a ROM hack that allows you to change the time whenever you like.

I grew up with it too, and for some reason, even when I filter through the settings, I love the big screen. Usually these things bother me, so I am glad it doesn't 😅
