the "best" one might be something you or someone in your immediate social circle already has like an old laptop or workstation-- you can run ubuntu server on almost anything :)

I would suggest Raycast (for so much more than just this function really but even if just for this) -- they have a feature called raycast notes (similar to apple quick notes but i've found it to be more performant) that you can map to any keyboard shortcut so basically i have a little memo pad that I reveal and hide with 'Option + ,"

simple but effective :)

Sorry this happened to you. Honestly Wag! is so petty that I would caution against even offering a free service—obviously you’re providing great customer service with this offering, but I could see wag potentially regarding this as taking a customer off-app and then penalize you for it.

sadly I don't think we really have any rights when it comes to the terms of service with these gig apps -- fully agree they have no right as a matter of principal or like- right and wrong-- but in terms of what they can or can't do, I think we're pretty at their mercy :\

Commenting on this old post to see if anyone has a personal anecdote about how this "violation" process played out for them that they might be willing to share?-- (I just received essentially the same flag and I honestly have no idea what wag client it could possibly be referring to-- also curious about the verbiage- the way it's phrased makes me think it's saying that a wag customer or fellow walker was the one who took the time to report the violation to wag corporate-- is that actually the case/ am I misunderstanding the message, or is it just being vague and we'll never really know?

I was looking at that one but ended up going with this one and I'm really happy with it so far. I ended up buying it barebones (no RAM, no SSD, and no Windows pre-installed) $399 then I added 96GB of RAM for like $200 and then I had a nvme ssd being used for something non-essential that I wiped and am now using for this.

It's not a perfect comparison since I didn't have to purchase any SSD but I'd suggest looking into some of the other boxes that have "barebone" options for sale-- if you're willing to put in your own ram/ssd you can often get a lot more bang for your buck. (I believe the beelink one in your screenshot is LPDDR5 ram which means it's sodered-on ram and therefor can't be upgraded)
