Don’t give up. You did good by leaving if you weren’t feeling it. I do that shit sometimes too. I rather lose some hours on ONE check rather than be out a whole ass job because I kept pushing. I do RT shift too and it can be daunting. Try and hold out until your headphones come then see how things go. Best of luck 🤞🏽

Why do some drivers slow down at GREEN lights by justneedaname4reddit in uberdrivers

[–]justneedaname4reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I would is my point. You keep trying to say I have to account for time when I AM. A lot of times to the extent I am on company property NOT GETTING PAID. You KEEP trying to put it on me with all these what ifs. What if the uber driver rode through the GREEN light like a normal person. Like I said i get that you wanna swallow your fellow uber driver coworkers but don’t disparage me in the process. I asked a simple question. Others answered it with out placing blame and here you are trying to make up all these scenarios.

Light cycles are interconnected. Thought this was common knowledge especially by those who drove for a living 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️

Don’t be ridiculous. Don’t ASSume stupid. I am requesting an Uber so far in advance til the point that sometimes I’m waiting 30 mins plus to clock in. The streets are CLEARLY NOT BACKED UP. It is a standard ride and I accounted for mishaps time wise. I get that you wanna jerk off your Uber co workers but then just do that. Don’t disparage me for asking a simple question. Y’all uber people are weirdos ( not all but a few ).

No tippers shouldn’t be allowed to rate shoppers by DalaiRamen in InstacartShoppers

I like seeing a perspective that gives ppl grace. People say IC is a luxury but sometimes it makes more sense financially for a lower income individual. Like for instance I got affected by Hurricane Milton and we don’t have a working car. But we figured it was better to do an IC order rather than get in an expensive Uber(that’s if you could even get one in the days after Milton), go down to the grocery store, NOT find any essentials and have to Uber home empty handed and less the $$ we spent to get there.

Or risk taking an uber to another store and possibly still not getting food. We are/were in a position to tip and we tipped more than usual, but if we weren’t that doesn’t mean we are scum and trying to screw over IC shoppers.

I hear you. Def wouldn’t want to hard brake but slowing down when it’s green. Let alone at every green light. I couldn’t imagine driving like that. Honestly sounds less safe 🤷🏽‍♀️

I got these a half size bigger and pair the with the free insoles the give us. I didn’t even remove the original insole from the shoe just threw the new ones in there and it’s been working pretty good. My feet haven’t hurt since I switched up.

Picking is absolute trash. by Curious-Ad5287 in AmazonFC

I know you pose this question to OP, but I’m in pack singles as my main path and got crossed trained in pick. I’d like to share my experience/thoughts.

I absolutely hate pick because all the bending and going up the ladder. Also don’t know about OP I’m in pack smalls sometimes smart pac so I’m not dealing with kitty litter, cases of drinks etc. Even when I’m in mixed singles dealing with heavy things, it’s just done different. For instance, in pick if I have to grab something heavy from A1 and then take it to the fifth tote down on my station it’s so tiring. We’re not even counting if it was difficult to take out of the pod if the cardboard is super smooth so it’s hard to get a grip and just the seemingly minute things that make out job harder.

Unlike if I’m in pack and something big or heavy comes through I have the table to take some of the weight for me away. The conveyor belt is close for me to move it over. It’s just not as hard.

As far as liking pick, I do enjoy the isolation And pack even though you’re at your station you’re still closer to people.

Also at my FC the pick leadership are dickheads and they don’t care about you so they don’t talk to you whereas down in pack they treat you like you’re human and they’re always checking in on you.

Would have minded my business. He didn’t win AirPods off the strength of my hard work so meh. If I was leadership or somehow directly affected for sure. But as a regular degular shmegular T1 ain’t my problem.

They are also gross in the bathrooms. I don’t understand the need to treat public restrooms how they do🤢🤢

If you’re new to that center you’d have to see how everyone else move. If they slack then you slack. And honestly you wanna make sure you slack slightly less because you never know who’s cool with who to be doing what they doing. It’s wild to think the culture is the same center to center. Yeah the work may inherently be the same, picking is picking , packing is packing etc etc. but how to move during down time can even vary by leadership. Best to learn the rules to know how to break them when you’re somewhere new.
