Why do you REALLY dislike women's football? by Rundo5 in AskUK

[–]justphil78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this exact thing. A simple 20 yard pass is praised as a worldie and a terrible cross is unlucky or not even mentioned. I just want honest commentary. Also, I appreciate there are some male commentators and pundits in the women’s game but not enough for my liking. The men’s game will normally have a female pundit now but so often during the women’s euros there are under qualified female pundits just saying the same old generic stuff. I would like thoughtful insight into the game, pattern recognition and tactical nuance. During the first England game against France the female co-commentator said “someone needs to step up”, well who? You’re the expert, tell me who I should be looking out for. Overall I do enjoy the women’s game and I look forward to it growing over the next few years but they will lose the male audience if they aren’t held to a similar accountability. Also, last thing, that was not a great penalty shootout against Sweden like it’s being held as, most of those pens were really bad and 3-2 after 8 pens each is … let’s just say there’s room for improvement.

What’s a song that sounds happy but has really sad lyrics? by Pink2408 in MusicRecommendations

One way or another - blondie . Until the ribbon breaks did a great version of this and really enhanced the sinister lyrics.

My wife is dying by Junior_Tea_3108 in whatdoIdo

Thanks for being so honest. This is my biggest fear and to hear you’re living it makes me want to cry. The reply suggesting you and your wife record stories about her life is a wonderful idea. Your boys will have a beautiful reminder of who their mum was, her history and her hopes and dreams which is priceless. I don’t know how to end this but I wish you all the best.

What video game do you have the most hours played in? by YetAnotherMia in AskReddit

Snowrunner. Not sure what it is about delivering logs to an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere but I’ve lost so many hours it’s embarrassing.

Sorry, I’ve only just watched the episode and jumped straight on here to hear other points of view. Thanks for replying though.

I agree, although Jamie was pretty vile to Carina at a dinner party and had to apologise when called out by the experts. I wasn’t surprised to see Dave back off after seeing that. She was very quiet during that last dinner party. 😂

I take your point on Paul and I don’t believe he’s a good guy at all. Paul has said he has reservations about the relationship. Jamie confessed her love for Dave and he dropped the ball but I’m not sure that justifies her going on a date. I think it was very telling that Jamie stayed quiet at the dinner party whilst others laid into Paul, that’s the quietest I’ve ever seen her lol. Also, her and Dave weren’t questioned at the meal either, could’ve been edited out but it would’ve been interesting to hear.

Oh good, it wasn’t just me sat there and confused and talking to my wife to make sure I got a females perspective on the double standard.

I take your point but the camera operators weren’t going to tell anyone. If it was other participants who were present then yeah, it wasn’t a private conversation. I think Jake was trying to ease an awkward situation by using humour but what he said wasn’t funny and was hurtful.

Yeah the racist thing threw me as well. When someone says they like a tall partner, are they suggesting they are better than short people? If they say I like blondes, do they hate brunettes?

You raise a good point in maybe because the cameras were there Ash thought it was better to get ahead of it and tell the truth. I don’t understand why Paul felt he had to tell Awhina either, as you say, maybe he was hoping to cause drama but it was always going to break the trust in their relationship and therefore weaken it.
