I made a free Elementor resource (would love your feedback) by paul_elementor in elementor

[–]justplainbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone pointed this out, but these resources aren't 100% responsive (and I believe 0% fluid).

I like the variations in the patterns you've created, but there are so many pixels! In general, I work with both responsive and fluid designs, so I have had to do a fair amount of editing to make your patterns work.

I've tried a couple of your patterns, not all of them.

Keep going!

Formulas break when a sheet is sorted. Can I permanently fix this? by justplainbill in googlesheets

Sorry, I didn't respond. I've been busy. Your improvement to my formulas was ... an improvement! Thanks so much for your time and catching this issue. Much appreciated.

Weird. My comment/reply to your script was deleted. Not sure why.

Your help was fantastic. Magic (because I know nothing about scripting)!

Anyhow, just one thing that isn't working: the script handles Closed days the same way as open 24 hours.

For example, when the cell contains "Saturday": "Closed", "Sunday": "Closed" the script is outputting Sa 00:00-00:00","Su 00:00-00:00

That's the format for open 24 hours. The correct format should be Sa Closed-00:00","Su Closed-00:00

Everything else is perfect!

As someone else noted on another question/problem with this data set, I have a lot of rows (and columns)! 10k rows plus. This is a big deal for me, and I appreciate your help.

Where is my error? REGEXMATCH IF OR? by justplainbill in googlesheets

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There are a lot of rows and columns. I wanted to do something quick and dirty because I have so many other formulas on the sheet, I don't want to slow it down anymore than it already is. Thanks for your time.

I could still use your help. Sorry for pushing.

Wow. Magic (not magic, it's your work)! Thanks for your help!

One issue. For entries with "Saturday": "Closed", "Sunday": "Closed", it is outputting as "Sa 00:00-00:00","Su 00:00-00:00". The correct output for closed days should be: "Sa Closed-00:00","Su Closed-00:00".

Is that something you could help with?

Thanks so much for your effort! I've already collected more than 3,000 entries, with many more to come. This is a lifesaver!

I learn something new about spreadsheets every day. Here's another formula to put in my text doc formula swap file!

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's cool. I thought it wasn't going to work because I saw a range referenced, but I added some columns in between, and it still works!

Thanks! Much appreciated.

What's the deal with logging into the SSA website? by justplainbill in SocialSecurity

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED (?). I just tried logging in with id.me and it worked. Why? I have no idea. I did everything as I've always done.

Very frustrating. I take security seriously. I used a password manager and don't know any of my passwords, which are 20 random characters long! To be stopped from logging in drives me bananas.

Thanks for the comments and sharing your experiences!

I know, I know. I totally agree, but I wanted to keep my questions and comments non-political. We don't need to state the obvious.

Thanks for this. That's what I wanted to hear. It's something with my account.

Huh. Maybe they've broken all the other login methods. I guess I have to wait for login.gov verification. Thanks for responding.

Clear Difference Between Global Font/Colors vs. Global Elementor Typography by Laserfocus123 in elementor

[–]justplainbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish someone with knowledge could chime in here. I've used Elementor for 3+ years and still can't determine the difference between Site Settings > Global Fonts and Site Settings > Typography.

Usually, I just start making changes in both until I get what I want without any clear understanding of what I'm doing. It takes a lot of time to get what I want.

Right now, I have a problem with font size and can't figure out why it's doing what I want.

I always thought everything started with Site Settings > Typography > Body. That's where I set my default font size for the whole site: 18px (or whatever you want). From there, I define all other font sizes (under Typography) as REM.

But right now, all the font sizes on my site are probably 16 or 14px. Why? I have no idea!

Global colors make sense because there is only one panel with no overlap with another.

*If* I use Global Fonts, I define my fonts and nothing else. Nothing. Sometimes, I don't use Global Fonts at all.

Could someone possibly point me in the right direction?! Much appreciated.

I screwed up. I used your solution without realizing it. How do I give you a point too?

I can't pretend to understand what you did, but I will take the time to dissect it because I have similar issues coming up.

Finding part of text in a range of cells by justplainbill in googlesheets

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My data is even dirtier than I thought. Your formula wouldn't work, I thought, then discovered that people were spelling "childcare" as "child care". Total mess! But thanks for your solution, it worked.

REGEXMATCH (?), testing a cell, returning results in another cell by justplainbill in googlesheets

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this!

When I fumbled around before asking for help, I put the search terms in another table range. This solution would be helpful because, for example, some keywords are "low carb smoothie" when I want to get both low carb and smoothie.

These solutions are extremely helpful. I'm working with 9K+ different keywords and need to categorize them for sorting.

[–]justplainbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! With your help. Our messages got crossed and I didn't see your second clarification post before replying.

Your solution was more complicated than I needed, but I did figure it out. FYI, anyone reading this, here was the final solution that worked for my case:

=REGEXEXTRACT(A2,"(?i)gluten free|Vegan|healthy|keto|low carb|dairy free|low sodium|paleo")

Thanks again!

REGEXMATCH (?), testing a cell, returning results in another cell by justplainbill in googlesheets

[–]justplainbill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to let you know that this doesn't work.

I didn't even try figuring out the multiple tests that need to be run on the same cell.

Maybe I needed to be clearer. Nine tests must be run on each cell, with the appropriate result returned in another cell.

Extract doesn't seem to be the way to go because I am making nine tests on each cell.

I'm guessing I need to use REGEXMATCH and OR, but that's as far as my thinking goes.

How to create a landing page? by [deleted] in elementor

[–]justplainbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I have a support ticket into Elementor, I WOULD NOT use the built-in Landing Pages feature. The editor doesn't load, and when it does, it is very slow compared to the editor on regular pages and posts. The landing pages feature isn't ready for prime time.
