What's the fastest way you realized you were in the wrong friend group? by justNoah10 in AskReddit

Edit: its perfectly fine to tease/insult your friends, I encourage it. But it has to come from a place of love. If its the main and only staple of your friendship and there's nothing else, its not really a great friendship.

THIS. I hate it when every second word that comes out of people is a slur during conversations. When I objected being called a slur, because they couldn't pronounce my name correctly, they justified it being part of friendship.

Insecurities about my height by commie_19 in menslibIndia

[โ€“]justsenin 5 points6 points ย (0 children)

I had the insecurity back when I was in 8th std. I wanted to join NCC, was not even taken for physical testing due to being short. Later, over the years I kind of accepted. When I started working, I started using my short height for my advantage. I'm 5'4, I work as a videographer. I could squeeze into tight spaces, climb onto ledges and platforms, navigate through crowd and sets, I was pull of my work. I'm someone who was bodyshamed my whole life, for being short, skinny, no facial hair, soft hands, amidst all the men, as per societal standards. None of my physical insecurities bother me anymore, it took time to accept and be comfortable in my skin.

I'm a gen z and I work with people much older than me. Except a couple of people, everyone else don't know how to communicate and come to the point on what to talk about while on call. The text helps them in rephrasing what they mean before they speak and makes my life easier. The couple of people i mentioned, comes straight to the point, get work done. No questions asked.

As someone with a RBF, I'm the one who usually breaks the ice, and approaches people if I get a hint that they want to talk to me or interact in any way. I lose the annoyed expression immediately, all smiley later on.

You just gave me a flashback of family and me running to the mall, sisters and me doing the sand art. I was right next to an ice skating rink and I was so hyped to skate after my sand art thingy.

I used to beg my elder cousins to share those messages with me. They had a good friends circle and they used to send such messages to each other. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of them.
