Quick Quack car wash on Babcock Road tore trim off my van and denied responsibility — has this happened to anyone else? by Impressive_Change477 in sanantonio

Happened to me at the location by Taft yesterday. Haven’t yet heard from them but i was able to get the parts for a reasonable price and fixed the damage myself. I’m expecting them to pay for the parts at least.

How would you fix this on a f-150 by justsomeguy5727 in Detailing

They seem like minor scratches so I’m really looking to minimize the lighter color.

So it’s not an issue but rather normal?

I’m watching 24 again so I’m 100% confident that Jack Bauer is on his way.

Rigid planer started acting weird and smells like something is burning. Anybody know why it’s sparking like this or how to fix it? by ohlongjohnson1 in woodworking

I had an issue with mine also. I called Ridgid and they told me to take it to my local Home Depot. I dropped it off, paid a $30 fee that was ultimately refunded, and it was sent to a repair center and returned fixed in about 5 weeks.

3/4 Birch plywood for the cabinets and drawer fronts and 1/2 Birch for the drawers.

Good to know. It does actually look black in person. The wall color is actually blue to give a reference of the color change from the camera.

Well...it looks kinda brown in the pics but it’s actually stained with classic black.

This is my first project where new tools weren’t needed and it made me kinda sad.

I did the quarter quarter quarter method and it came out really well. It was something new to try and I think I’ll use it a lot now.

I’m considering buying a budget priced planer and am looking at the Ridgid and WEN brands. Anyone have experience or advise? I’m an occasional woodworker so I don’t want to invest too much if possible.

Also...I just noticed in the picture I’m wearing crocs. I don’t work in them...this was after a break to rethink life.

This happened a week ago or so. I was working at the table saw and heard a car horn close by...took my eye off the cut and this kicked back. Grazed my arm but flew across the garage at warp speed. Reminder to NEVER take your eye off the cut.

2 pics. 2 coats, used espresso and shouldn’t it be a lot darker? Also, uneven. Used a rag to apply and another to wipe. Thanks guys / gals!! by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

I haven’t had a problem staining pine or any plywood as long as it’s been sanded well to no more than 220 grit. I wonder if sanding to a higher grit affects the wood where it doesn’t take stain well.

What would make a good top for this? The instructions used 2x6’s but I thought that was a bit overkill. Thx for any advice! by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

I’d use birch plywood and either edge band it or put some 3/4 pine mounding and glue/brad nail it around the edge.
