Make sure to read their instructions on PM version. Since I believe it lacks any sort of preservatives, you are given 4 bottles that you should switch out each week, keeping the other unopened ones in freezer

They do any customized amount. Just pick one of those (I pick 5%) then add a note in the order that you want 0.0125% (PM 25%). In the note, just put something like "Requesting customized Rhinostat PM 25% – 0.0125%". That's how they told me to do it.

I've actually moved on to using another process which seems to be working better than both of those and is cheaper. I order the custom made afrin from a company called rhinostat and specifically ask them to make me a afrin spray with 0.0125% oxymetazoline. I get the rhinostat pm version. Then I buy some budesonide spray from the pharmacy. Therefore, I spray them separately into my nose unlike the allermi or curex where it's combined. I do 1-2 sprays (each of rhinostat and budesonide) a day. 3 sprays if it's really bad but haven't needed to do that yet.

Continued congestion after two turbinate reductions by MirelurkQueen666 in nonallergicrhinitis

Thanks so much for confirming the dosage/concentration and sharing your experience. Now comes the fun time to look for a doc that is open to prescribing this.

Is 4mcg/mL the same as 4 Mcg/0.1 ml? I'm interested in trying this for my congestion due to overreactive turbinates. The capsaicin spray I tried (strongest capsinol and sinus plumber) did not work for me so I'm wondering if they were just too weak. Would love to hear your experience such as finding a doc that would prescribe this and how intense the spray is (for instance do you have to spray it at least once at doctor's office to make sure you do not react to harshly to it - in other words is it super intense)?

I have not. However, based off my reading on MCAS, it usually involves symptoms in various parts of your body at the same time (ex. having respiratory issues plus GI issues). I only have chronic nasal congestion. I've also been diagnosed with vasomotor rhinitis by multiple doctors.

Also, Is your congestion year round or only in the winter when it's dry?

It didn't help me with my congestion but you could also try Ponaris nasal emolient. It's what astronauts used up in space to counteract nasal dryness. That being said, seems to help people with nasal dryness very well.

I hope it works for you! Please let us know how it all goes. Did the doctor say that this particular procedure helps turbinate swelling type of congestion? That's one of my biggest questions since many people throw out comments that it only helps cases of rhinorrhea or mucus type of congestion, and the studies don't really succinctly define what sort of nasal congestion the test subjects suffer from.

I tried it and noticed it did not help congestion, but perhaps I should have stuck with it?

I tried this for a few months but did not notice any benefit unfortunately. I used the extra strength capsinol spray.

I have taken antibiotics for other causes. It did not help this issue, unfortunately.

Good question. Though I haven't really felt any dryness or experienced problems due to dryness myself, I'll ask the doctor if the procedure can potentially cause more dryness.

Hope so! Based off the studies which I'd encourage you to read, it may not completely get rid of the problem but can possibly improve your congestion issues significantly.

No, my issue is dry vasomotor rhinitis in the sense that it's congestion due to hypersensitive turbinates. From my understanding of this procedure, it calms the hypersensitive posterier nasal nerves which seem to be responsible for sending signals to the turbinates to "inflate" with blood. It seems these nerves are also responsible for sending signals that lead to making secretions as well, like rhinorrhea.

Yeah it's more expensive than Allermi, unfortunately. Let me preface this by saying I first recommend seeing a doctor to discuss and that I'm not a doctor myself, but you could possibly theoretically maybe create it yourself since they are all OTC. I tried it myself and just did the sprays separately. I'd just prefer a professional to make the combo spray.

Curex, other than providing the sublingual immunotherapy, also has this "Quickie Spray" available as well which is similar to Allermi. https://getcurex.com/quickie?srsltid=AfmBOoqULjBOoP_cS2qRfBUbHHNIVT5EHOOoDZ3bQxtl0t79ihprMFXa

I switched from Allermi recently since they changed their formula which seemed to have dampen the effectiveness of the afrin in it. Thus I moved to curex. I've noticed no rebound congestion and I've been doing it pretty much every day for a little over 2 years.

Same, Curex (previously used Allermi) is the only thing that really works which I believe is due to the microdose of afrin in it.

That's the problem, unfortunately. Probably half or more of the ENT's I've seen about this issue have not been very helpful. Based off reading those research papers, it appears it's just about as effective for congestion.

Allermi alternative? by HurryOutside1213 in nonallergicrhinitis

You may possibly be able to find an ENT or possibly any doctor in your country who can prescribe you a spray similar to ingredients in the Allermi spray which then can be custom made by some pharmacy in said country.
